Pop queen Janet Jackson was all smiles at the The Woodruff Arts Center’s Symphony Hall in Atlanta on Thursday night (August 30th) as she was crowned BMI Icon at the 2018 BMI R&B/Hip-Hop Awards.

As we reported here, the honor – which was announced just a month after she took home the prestigious Billboard Music Award icon trophy – was bestowed upon Jackson for decades of enduring contributions to the Urban music platform as a songwriter and producer.  This after Teyana Taylor, H.E.R., Jussie Smollett, and Normani delivered stunning tribute performances of some of her biggest hits.

Jax Jones has been the definition of omnipresent on the radio and the charts. Indeed, courtesy of colossal hits such as ‘Instruction’ with Demi Lovato and Stefflon Don and ‘I Got U’ with Duke Durmont, the 31-year-old has been an inescapable force.

And he shows no signs of deviating from that trajectory.

This week, the ever-dependable hitmaker has announced ‘5 Alive Tour.’ Setting sail in November, the trek will see Jones pour out good vibes across London, Leeds, Manchester, and more.

After more than 20 years in the game, Eminem proves he still has the shock factor.

For, moments ago the Hip-Hip titan unleashed his 10th studio album – ‘Kamikaze.’

Released without any pre-warning, the Interscope set reunites Em with longtime collaborator Dr Dre who serves alongside him as executive producer of the 13-song collection.

Uniquely, the project arrives less than a year after the rapper dropped his 9th offering ‘Revival’ – which topped charts upon its debut in December, but wasn’t received well by critics. In a short, but telling tweet, the star heavily alludes to this album righting those wrongs.

His words and the LP itself await below…

MNEK‘s long-awaited album debut ‘Language’ is a week away from release, so what better way to trumpet its arrival than a brand new video?!

This go round, it’s for ‘Correct.’

The attitude-drenched jam follows ‘Tongue’ and sees the singer-songwriter (whose credits include Beyonce and Christina Aguilera) get boisterously braggadocios in an empowering way.

Indeed, the London-bred star seizes the song to remind the doubters of his receipts and stress the neccessity of coming to him… ‘Correct.’

Last night saw family and fans of Michael Jackson unite to celebrate the King Of Pop’s 60th Birthday.

Las Vegas played host to the centre-piece event designed to honor MJ’s immeasurable impact and legacy.

The celebration saw the late legend’s children Prince Jackson and Paris Jackson take a central role – accepting an award on their father’s behalf and hosting a special auction.

Usher, who Jackson showered with praise and performed with, took to the stage for a surprise tribute medley. Elsewhere, talent from the Michael Jackson ONE show by Cirque du Soleil and DJ Mark Ronson rocked the house.

Celebs in the building included Gabrielle Union, Angela Bassett, Evan Ross and Ashlee Simpson. Also present were Michael’s brothers Tito and Jackie Jackson.

Speaking with accepting an award for their father from Quinn Tivey of The Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation (he’s Elizabeth Taylor’s grandson), Prince said:

“On behalf of my sister and myself, it is a privilege and honor to be here about something that my dad was so passion about and who he held so near and dear to his heart. The way my father led his life, he led by example. Even though he was the King of Pop, he never thought he was too big for any person, no matter what you did no matter where you came from.”
