Their ‘Stranger Things’ duet may have not made much noise on the Billboard Hot 100 (click here to watch), but now Chris Brown and Joyner Lucas are looking to ‘I Don’t Die’ to breathe new life and interest into their collaborative album, ‘Angels & Demons.’

With Lucas at the director’s helm (with help from Ben Proulx), the cut’s prison-themed visual sees the duo play on the song’s theme by being featured on “death row.” All their jail-inspired action leads to fancy footwork, taunts and trauma, and a surprise ending.

As we previously reported, ‘No Tears Left To Cry’ – the first single from Ariana Grande‘s fourth album, ‘Sweetener’ – has certainly come as some well received ear candy for the diva’s legion of dedicated fans (affectionately called #Arianators).

Need proof?  Look no further than the tune’s impressive first week commercial performance.  Netting a whopping 36.9 million US streams and 100,000 digital downloads, the out of the box success led it straight to a top 5 debut on the Hot 100.

The chart premiere is accompanied with two equally impressive historic feats:  1) she tied Rihanna and Lady Gaga for sixth place among all acts for the most top 10 debuts and 2) she earned the distinct honor of being the first artist to debut in the Hot 100’s top 10 with the first singles from each of his or her first four albums.  Simply put:  every lead single from each of her albums has debuted in the Hot 100’s top 10.

The heat is on ‘Ignition’ star R. Kelly like never before.

The R&B veteran, who for years has seen his musical success shadowed by accusations of sexual assault and molestation, continues to witness his fellow celebrities drum up support for criminal investigations into those allegations (some dating back to the early 90s).

As we reported here, famed television writer, producer, and author Shonda Rimes was one of the first major figures to shed light on the #MuteRKelly campaign which calls for concert ticket sellers, radio disc jockeys, and more platforms that showcase the singer’s music to cease.  Following her lead, film director Ava Duvernay, ‘Scandal’ star Kerry Washington, legendary DJ Tom Joyner, and the leaders of the #TimesUp movement joined the suit – prompting a response from Kelly who deemed the rallying conspiratorial and “unjust and off-target”(click here to read his response in full).

His statements only doused the fire with gas as more and more celebs have joined the fight against him.  See the likes of Lupita Nyong’o, Amy SchumerTiffany Haddish, Jussie Smollett, Jane Fonda, John Legend, Debra Messing, Viola Davis, and more speak out:

Concerned parents took to Twitter to voice their displeasure with NBC’s ‘The Voice’ for Janelle Monae‘s “racy” performance on last night’s (May 1) episode.

The songstress, hot on the promo trail for her tertiary album, ‘Dirty Computer’ (in stores now), took to the reality singing competition to show off one of the project’s gems, ‘Make Me Feel.’  With hip thrusts, pop, locks, and drops galore, some viewers were none too pleased with the song’s already sexually suggestive content, let alone the choreography used to support it.

Deemed “raunchy” and downright “lewd” by some, look inside to see the hoopla in response to the showing and weigh in:

Streaming has revolutionlised the way music is consumed and has had a transformative effect on the industry at large.

And while this had a positive impact (such as empowering independent artists), there’s been ample critique.

Some of the most prominent problems critics have pointed out include the questionable royalty payouts to artists and the uniform weighting of plays from free and paid for platforms.

Billboard, the official US chart body, have listened and are introducing major changes.
