2017 just keeps looking better and better for Kendrick Lamar.
The Grammy-winning rap star laid claim to the year’s biggest hit (streaming and sales) for a solo artist with his chart-topping hit, ‘Humble,’ while its parent album – ‘Damn’ – topped album charts upon its arrival and is now eligible for triple platinum certification in the U.S.
These wins and many more helped make the hip hop hitmaker a shoo-in for the cover of ‘Forbes’ magazine’s annual prestigious ’30 Under 30′ issue. Lamar, 30, was one of 600 lucky enough to make the highly competitive list (which boasts over 15,000 annual submissions) and rightfully so if you ask us. According to the money mag:
He’s earned $78.5 million over the past five years, including a career-best $30 million this year, and inked a new Nike deal this summer.
In the music business, Lamar has grown into a force. He has earned two visits to the White House and grosses more than $1 million a night on the road and even more for big festivals like Coachella…
K.Dot isn’t the only hip hop star making money moves, however. As she proclaimed in her chart-topping hit, ‘Bodak Yellow,’ rising rapstress Cardi B – thanks to the song’s out-of-the-box success – saw her name printed on the list.
