Who doesn’t love a big diva duet? We sure do!
This week’s From The Vault pick comes courtesy of Beyonce and Shakira. It’s 2007’s ‘Beautiful Liar.’
For the re-release of her sophomore album ‘B’Day,’ it was back to the drawing board for Mrs Carter who enlisted Latin sensation Shakira to trade verses with her on the set’s first single.
‘Liar’ was helmed by Stargate and Knowles, who are the same team behind her mega-hit ‘Irreplaceable.’
In the US, the track peaked at #3 and it was also a top charting single in many European countries such as France, Germany and the UK.
It was nominated for Best Pop Collaboration at the 2008 Grammy Awards and Record Of Year at the Latin Grammy Awards 2007.
Jake Nava directed the song’s video, which was dynamite! High fashion, beauty shots, hair-o-graphy and “that” killer belly-dance break. Though minimalistic, it did a brilliant job bridging the gap between these two very different but dynamic artists.
The clip won the VMA for Best Collaboration in 2007.

It’s still puzzling to see that we never got a live showing of this particular track (featuring both ladies), especially when THAT dance break was simply begging for it.
Anyhow, with Bey and Shak still killing it in their respective lanes a whole decade and 5 kids later, who knows what the future holds for this song.
For now though, we salute them for this epic Pop moment!
Cardi B‘s reign on the Hot 100 has spelled good news for the friends and family she has in her hometown of New York City.
One of them? The good people at ‘Lyft’ who have honoured ‘Bodak Yellow‘s record-breaking run by welcoming the performer to its family!

Q4 seasonally brings with it many a major release and 2017 is not disappointing. Because, as of today, OJ Simpson is officially a free man.

Jay Z has never been one to shy away from making big statements and tonight, during his performance at the premiere of ‘SNL’s 43rd season, proved no different.
Taking to the legendary stage to render live renditions of hits found aboard his latest chart-topper, ‘4:44,’ HOV -joined by Damian Marley – rocked Colin Kaepernick’s “7” jersey while rocking out to the tunes ‘Bam’ & the album’s title track.

It looks like Will, Grace, Jack, and Karen are just what the doctors ordered for NBC.
This week brought with it the highly anticipated return of the network’s game-changing comedy, ‘Will & Grace,’ and if ratings are anything to judge by, the four have not missed a step. Granted, some of those steps landed on the toes of Trump supporters as the reboot’s premiere episode (aired September 28) was unapologetically politically charged, that certainly didn’t stop viewers from staying tuned.
Defeating ratings titan ‘Grey’s Anatomy’s new season kickoff (part of ABC’s #TGIT lineup), in fact, ‘Will’ not only defeated the usual Thursday night champion, but also every other scripted series that aired that night.
See the details below:
Viewers apparently couldn’t wait to get their eyes and ears on the newest episode of FOX’s hit series, ‘Empire.’
Learning the latest of the Lyon gang Lucious, Cookie, Andre, Jamal, and Hakeem, the series’ season 4 premiere was launched on September 27 and slayed every scripted competitor in its timeslot.
Going on to become the third-most watched scripted series of the night overall, the Lee Daniels-directed program also helped secure an impressive lead-in for the director’s other FOX darling, ‘Star.’ See the numbers below:
Alexandra Burke is amazing on the mic and is proving equally as arresting on the dance-floor.
The Brit-belter, who rose to fame as the winner of The X Factor after performing with Beyonce, is currently competing on the current series of the BBC’s ‘Strictly Come Dancing.’
Much like the US’ ‘Dancing With The Stars,’ the series sees celebrities battle it out each week in a quest for the coveted ballroom trophy.
Oft commanding an audience of 10 million + each week, the show is renown for being a potent promotional platform and the real “win” tends to be for competitors careers.
With Alex readying new material, it’s smart timing. Especially as she’s slaying!
Watch her week 2 performance of the Paso Doble with partner Gorka Marquez. Their song is J.Lo‘s ‘On The Floor.’
Kelly Rowland fans no doubt have a PHD in patience. For, it’s been almost five years since the singer released her last album ‘Talk A Good Game.’
In the time since, she’s become a mother, toggled between TV projects, other entrepreneurial endeavours, and recording her next LP.
Now, as she gears up RNB Live Tour in Australia, she’s updated
After a nearly 15 year absence from the top of the Billboard 200, Shania Twain is proving after all this time she’s still the one.
Thanks to a host of physical pre-orders and some handsome digital download early reads, industry analysts are predicting her fifth studio album, ‘Now,’ will be bowing at #1 when the album charts refresh week after next. The set – despite not seeing any of its singles impact the Billboard Hot 100 – is on track to sell DOUBLE the amount of its nearest competitors’, Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato‘s, new album inaugural figures.
This, even though both of the young singers’ albums had top 20 singles to precede them…
It’s been a rollercoaster for Fergie creating and finally releasing sophomore album ‘Double Dutchess.’
Several years in the making, the LP arrived on September 22nd and paired each track with an accompanying video.
With the first-week numbers finally tallied, was the Black Eyed Peas star’s “visual experience” an arresting enough proposition for the record-buying public?
