Fantastic news after the bounce…
Today, we salute two of music’s most memorable legends. This week’s From The Vault pick is ‘If I Told You That’ by the eternally electrifying Whitney Houston and George Michael.
Originally a solo song from Houston’s 98 comeback LP ‘My Love Is Your Love,’ ‘That’ was produced by the legendary Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins. For the diva’s 2000 Greatest Hits collection, the track was given a new life when worked into a duet with soul man George Michael. The end result? An all-round vocal masterclass.
[Fun Fact: the jam was originally set to feature fellow music royal… Michael Jackson]
The song was released overseas and was a success for the power pair, peaking at #9 in the U.K – George’s home country.
Kevin Bray was in charge of directing its accompanying video, which saw the two singers living it up in the club before meeting in the middle of the dance-floor for an energized dance-off.
What a beautiful thing it was – and still is – watching two artists at the top of their game sharing the stage in the most complimentary of manners. We wish more “established” acts would follow suit.

And although they have left to the world so many gems and treasures that will stand the test of time, we can’t help but think of all the wonderful music that they could have made in the current musical landscape. Especially with the resurgence of urban music in the mainstream.
Whitney, George, we love you, we miss you and for all time, we thank you.

The fall-out from L’Oreal‘s axing of a transgender model continues.
As reported, Munroe Bergdorf was dropped from the cosmetics giant’s new diversity driven campaign after comments she made about White supremacy following the violence in Charlottesville were “taken out of context” and published by a newspaper.
In the time since the news hit, there has been an outpouring of support for Bergdorf and a b(l)acklash of sorts against L’Oreal from many critics.
With the drama snowballing into a bigger debate, the mixed raced model was invited onto Channel 4 News to expound on her stance.
