Dej Loaf is back and she’s brought a new single with her!

Its name? ‘No Fear‘, produced by Christoph Andersson and released to appease fans still eager to see the rapper top the charts following the release of her breakout bop ‘Try Me‘.

How it fares?

How does it compare?

Listen below…

I know my life can get so crazy but as long as you’re right here
None of the gossip, nothing can stop us
I’m wanna love you with no fears
We can do this thing together
Close your eyes and take my hand
Cause what we have is something special
Baby let’s just take our chance
Baby let’s just take our chance

Katy Perry‘s Big Brother style ‘Witness‘ live stream was a roaring success.

For, though its campaigns singles failed to fly, the stream itself was viewed by 49 million people during its four-day run.

Fuelled by her tell-all therapy session, a conversation on race with Caitlyn Jenner and an analysis of her videography, the stream was launched to serve as an alternative (and perhaps safer) means of promotion following controversy she faced over her alleged use of the N-word.

Jay Z has friends in high-places. A fact highlighted in earnest last night when he became the first rapper inducted into the Songwriters Hall Of Fame.

The mogul was given the most endorsing of introductions by former US President Barack Obama.

Ever charismatic, he mused on his love for Jigga’s music, their similarities (including having wives more popular than them), and Jay’s immeasurable impact on the music and cultural landscape.

Check out the message below…

As reported, Jay was not present at the taping yesterday – although many of his team were in the building. This has fuelled growing speculation that wife Beyonce has indeed welcomed their twins – or is about to.

In any case, congratulations!

Trina teams with K. Michelle on sassy new collaboration ‘If It Ain’t Me.’

During a recent press run, the rapstress billed the track as a sister to much loved Kelly Rowland duet ‘Here We Go.’

And sonically it’s clear why.

The piano driven production sees the Queen of Miami trade verses with K on a cut that manages to be both warming and hard-hitting.

Take a listen to the song, which is lifted from the femcee’s long-awaited sixth album, below…

Easily the most radio ready of Trina’s recent efforts. This has Urban chart potential.

DJ Khaled has hatched the video for ‘Wild Thoughts’ – his hotly anticipated collaboration with Rihanna and Bryson Tiller.

The flavorsome offering is the latest taste of the hitmaker’s 10th studio album ‘Grateful’ – due via Epic Records / Roc Nation on June 23rd.

Khaled co-produced the cut, which samples Santana‘s smash ‘Maria,’ with PARTYNEXTDOOR.

Really though, what are you waiting for? Watch the video for ‘Wild Thoughts,’ directed by Colin Tilley, below…

We like.

With the the names involved, the natural expectation is for a club banger. But this bop bangs in its own way.

The production is lush and the sample was used to exquisite effect. Cute visual too.

It’s not as “instant” as fans of all involved likely anticipated and does sound distinctly “third / fourth single” (which it actually is). But, nonetheless, it’s still radio friendly and could make some noise on the charts.

Jay Z made history tonight when he became the first rapper ever inducted into the Songwriters Hall Of Fame.

Interestingly, the media mogul was not in attendance at the taping of the event (fuelling rumors about the birth of he and Beyonce‘s twins), however he did take to social media to salute all who’ve inspired him.

Renown for shunning social media, Jigga definitely made his rare appearance resonate.

See who he tipped his hat to below…

From ‘Beez in the Trap’ to ‘Pretty Girls Like Trap,’ rappers 2 Chainz and Nicki Minaj are showing off their chemistry again with their newest collaboration, ‘Realize.’

One of many big names to join Chainz on his new album (available now via Def Jam), ‘Realize’s reputation precedes it – to say the least – as it houses yet another collection of disses to Minaj’s newest nemesis, Remy Ma.

With stinging lyrics that hear the Harajuku Barbie allege Ma’s husband, rapper Papoose, wrote the bars on the now infamous ‘Shether,’ tuck in to hear this and everything else Minaj had to say in ‘Realize’:

Featuring Katy Perry, Pharrell Williams, and Big Sean, the new single – the latest cut from Harris’s forthcoming fifth studio album, ‘Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1’ (June 30) – is a guitar driven, disco-tinged affair that sees its trio of talents show off their stuff in ways we’ve never heard from any of their respective solo efforts.

As if reaching 4x platinum status in the United States and topping the singles charts of over 30 countries at its height wasn’t enough, Ed Sheeran‘s comeback hit – ‘Shape of You’ – is still helping the singer reshape Spotify and Hot 100 history books months after its debut.

That’s right, after smashing 1 day streaming records for Spotify, the tune has become the third song ever to reach the “1 billion streams” mark on the platform (first ever by a solo male vocalist).  Add to this, ‘Shape’ – which spent 12 non-consecutive weeks at #1 on the Hot 100 – is still in the top 5 this week.  Actually moving back up charts, Billboard reports:

Ed Sheeran‘s former 12-week Hot 100 No. 1 “Shape of You” rebounds 5-4, and extends its record for the most weeks spent in the top five from a song’s debut, having now collected its first 22 weeks on the Hot 100 in the top five, dating to its arrival at No. 1 (Jan. 28).

Congratz are in order for Sheeran.  Now, tuck in below to see who joins the redhead hitmaker in this week’s refreshed ‘TGJ Chart Check.’
