Ne-Yo is back.

The R&B crooner has unwrapped the video for ‘Another Love Song’ – the lead single from his seventh studio album ‘Good Man.’

A markedly “Ne-Yo” affair, the quirky visual sees the singer-songwriter dancing up a storm during a brief break from a date.

In an era where male singers are increasingly skewing more rapper with their everything, it’s great to see this performing gentleman stick to his formula.

SZA‘s reign as Contemporary R&B’s new Queen continues this year with the success of her single ‘Love Galore.’

Sales of her debut set ‘CTRL’ have been extremely modest but this stands as a far cry from its single ‘Galore’ which is making monumental moves for the entertainer on a financial front.

How so?

‘Galore’ earned a handsome $39,334 in the last week thanks to $34,476 generated from streams and $4,858 picked up from pure sales in the United States alone.

An impeccable feat, the cut’s digital run will spell good news for her label Top Dawg Entertainment who saw its parent album impact the Billboard 200 with sales of 25,000 units and undoubtedly have their sights set on its follow-up.

“I’m getting a little tired of your broken promithes promithes” – Queen Kiely Williams, 2000.

As September nears, so too does the start of the infamous Q4.

That tried and true window where campaigns are kicked off with a view to capitalise on the generous buying climate of the Holidays. Promotional platforms are plentiful and the potential for revenue maximisation is a very real reality for record labels.

It’s also a time during which fans begin to raise hopeful eyebrows at their faves who’ve promised new projects but have yet to deliver.

Historically, it’s proven that many of these LPs don’t arrive on time – or even at all.

However, we can only wait with bated breath. While we do, grab some tea and biscuits and join us below as we countdown 5 albums we want to see before the year’s end!

As a solo act and as a member of the chart-topping musical group Danity KaneDawn Richard has already proven herself quite the talent on the dancing, singing, and songwriting fronts.  Now, the much-lauded songstress is looking to see some of that critical acclaim aimed at her theatrical endeavors.

After years of smaller roles a-front a few television and movie ventures, Richard’s been cast as the lead in Jean Claude LaMarre‘s erotic-romance thriller, ‘Kinky.’  The film, reminiscent of ’50 Shades of Grey,’ will see her share top billing with Robert Ri’Chard and also features a supporting cast of acting vets Vivica A. Fox, Darrin Henson, and more.

Cassie is ready for another swing at Pop’s ball.

Eleven years removed from the unlocking of her debut album, the vocalist spins into action with a new number named ‘Love a Loser’ which features G-Easy and tells the tale of a woman unwilling to live life with inadequate lover.

I would rather lose a lover than to love a loser.Tell me is it me or the drugs ’cause baby I can’t tell.

Everything you did, I wouldn’t do it to you
Got my vision clear so now I’m seeing through ya
Writing you a letter, I’mma send it to ya
I’d rather lose a lover than to love a loser
Used to put it on ya like the Kama Sutra
Ain’t no looking back, I’m like the new Medusa
Got you on a Sunday screaming Hallelujah

For Selena Gomez, carving out a credible and commercially viable identity for herself as a musician is a task she is yet to complete.

Fortunately, the positive response garnered by her new number ‘Fetish’ saw her take several steps in the right direction and glide closer towards levels already reached by her peers Taylor Swift, Rihanna and Katy Perry.

That was before, according to her fans, she was sabotaged.

A large number of the star’s supporters believe that her quest for chart glory has been slammed, stung and stifled by someone determined to ensure her material sinks before it can swim.

Pointing at a number of potential saboteurs, her support base have taken to Twitter to urge her label, Interscope, to do more to protect her from what they believe are attempts to derail her.

She’s yet to respond.

It’s finally here!

Having shared space on the tracks ‘Do You Mind’ (DJ Khaled), ‘I Wanna Be With You’ (DJ Khaled), ‘Tapout’ (Rich Gang), and more, chart-topping rappers Future and Nicki Minaj are far from strangers.  This is probably why fans of both acts went into a frenzy when the two were photographed on the set of an undisclosed music video together earlier this year.

After months of keeping her faithful #Barbz waiting, Minaj finally revealed the previously unknown visual would be directed by Benny Boom and delivered to support ‘You Da Baddest’ – her latest collabo with the ‘Purple Reign’ star.  Now, the song and video await below for your listening pleasure:

A Louisiana judge recently poured ‘Lemonade’ diva Beyonce a glass of sour news regarding her 2016 top 10 hit, ‘Formation.’

As we reported here in April, the family of late comedian/Youtube star Messy Mya (Anthony Barre) slapped Bey & team with a lawsuit claiming the diva used vocal recordings of his in her song ‘Formation’ without their permission.  Seeking unpaid royalties and credit for Barre as “co-songwriter” on the track, the family not only listed Bey as defendants, but also everyone connected to the tune (including producers, other songwriters, etc.).

Immediately clapping back, Bey’s legal team asserted her use of his vocal was not only “grossly overstated” by the plaintiffs, but was also covered under ‘Fair Use’ copyright protection.  Well, the judge wasn’t buying it.

Despite seeing the first week sales prediction of her latest album, ‘Lust for Life,’ adjusted downward from 100k to 85k, ‘High by the Beach’ singer Lana Del Rey is still hitting the promo trail with hopes of turning the tide.

Acting as ‘Complex’ magazine’s latest cover girl, Del Rey dishes on hot topics like ‘cultural appropriation,’ guest stars on ‘Life,’ and so much more.  It’s accompanying feature shoot sees the singer/songwriter pay homage to Hollywood’s golden era with most mostly black-and-white snaps.

28 weeks.

That’s exactly how long it took for Ed Sheeran‘s massive hit, ‘Shape of You,’ to find itself outside of the top 5 on the Billboard Hot 100.  Debuting at #1 on the tally (as we reported here) in the Sprig, ‘Shape’ held the perch for a non-consecutive 12 weeks before finally being ousted by the likes of Kendrick Lamar‘s ‘Humble,’ Bruno Mars’ ‘That’s What I Like,’ and later held at bay by the blockbuster hit, ‘Despacito.’

Yet, despite being charged by the year’s biggest numbers, ‘Shape’ still managed to maintain footing in the top 5 thanks to some handsome radio play, digital sales, and, of course, streaming.  In fact, already setting a record for spending its first consecutive 22 weeks in the chart’s topmost quintet of positions, just five weeks later the tune made Sheeran the longest running solo act in the top 5 of Billboard’s Hot 100.  The only other act in history to accomplish a similar feat were The Chainsmokers (who also enjoyed 27 consecutive weeks in the top 5 with their hit ‘Closer’).

In this, ‘Shape’s 28th week on charts, the tune slips to #6.  Curious to see who joins him in the top 25?  Look below:
