It’s been nearly a week since the 59th annual Grammy Awards aired and people are still very much up-in-arms over a number of infamous moments from the telecast.

After Adele‘s historic sweep of the Album, Song, and Record of the Year categories, conversation erupted about how few times people of color have won the ceremony’s top honor over its 59 year history.  This added to the fact this year’s most nominated acts – Beyonce, Rihanna, Drake, Kanye West, and Chance the Rapper – mostly walked away with minor awards (if any awards at all).

As if that wasn’t enough, there were a number of sound snafus and technical mixups over the show including Metallica lead singer’s, James Hetfield, mic being completely off during a portion of the group’s performance with Lady Gaga and a picture of gospel singer Cece Winans being displayed behind a caption that read “Shirley Caesar.

If you thought Lady Gaga‘s Super Bowl-fueled resurgence was limited to the Billboard Hot 100, you thought wrong.

Yes, as we reported here, the singer/songwriter gave fans about a million reasons to fall in love again with her hit-filled catalog when she took to the Super Bowl 51 Halftime Show.  And, fall in love they did. Boosting her set ‘Joanne’ and its second single, ‘Million Reasons,’ to the top of album and digital sales charts respectively, newly unveiled stats reveal the streaming response was equally as potent.

The result?  Gaga’s ‘Reasons’ hopped to a Hot 100 peak of #4 and its parent album to #2 on the Billboard 200.  Look inside to see where other prized offerings from her discography landed on this week’s refreshed “Chart Check”:

It’s been nearly three years since R&B heartthrob Trey Songz graced charts with his album, ‘Trigga,’ but any fans growing impatient for its follow-up are about to get their wishes granted.

Sending his followers into a frenzy with the release of ‘Nobody Else But You,’ the first single from the long-awaited album ‘Tremaine,’ Songz uses the tune’s visual to incorporate scenes from his parodic  reality dating show ‘Tremaine the Playboy’ (read more about that here).

As fans continue to cry foul for the lack of full on promotion afforded Mary J. Blige‘s late 2016 bop of a single, ‘Thick of It,’ the Queen of Hip Hop Soul has seemingly left the Jazmine Sullivan-penned number in her rearview in favor of its follow-up, ‘U+Me (Love Lesson).’

‘Lesson’ leans on a number of themes found in ‘Thick,’ including what appears to be peeks into the end of her nearly 13-year marriage to ex-husband Kendu Isaacs.  Listed on the singer’s forthcoming album, ‘Strength of a Woman,’ rescheduled from its December 2016 release to a yet-revealed date, get into the new tune below and weigh in:

Readers of That Grape Juice know what avid music lovers we are – especially of hits past.

So, as our retrospective features ‘From the Vault’ and ‘TGJ Replay’  allow us the chance to re-spin the gems and jams of yesterday of one artist, our newest feature Chart Rewind – a variation of our current Retro Rewind assay – accedes salutes to an entire era of music history.

This week in 1999 Monica soared to the top of the Hot 100 with her hit ‘Angel of Mine.’  Lifted from ‘The Boy Is Mine‘ LP (read our ode to the album by clicking here), the angelic remake of British girl group Eternal‘s song of the same name dethroned pop princess Britney Spears’ Baby One More Time’ from the tally’s perch.

Becoming Mo’s third consecutive chart-topper (as the follow-up to ‘The Boy is Mine‘ the song and ‘The First Night’), the trio of chart triumphs came as the last time Mo saw her name atop the Hot 100.  Join us below as we salute the impressive run and see who else joined her in the top 25 this week 18 years ago:

Mariah Carey is hitting the promo trail in support of her latest single, ‘I Don’t.’

Taking to ‘Kimmel’ last night (Feb. 15), the singer/songwriter brought along the song’s co-star, YG, to assist with bringing the tune to its first live showing.

Will the outing give the “breakup anthem” a much needed boost to push it north on charts?  Look inside and tell us:

Mariah Carey is off to a slow start with her latest single, ‘I Don’t.’

Branded a “breakup anthem,” the YG-assisted tune’s February 3rd premiere may have been greeted with fanfare after snippets built anticipation, but a full tracking week later it appears that interest waned.  Add to this, getting swamped in the fray of Lady Gaga‘s ‘Super Bowl’ extravaganza and promotional efforts pushing the chart titans ‘Bad & Boujee’ (Migos) and ‘Shape of You’ (Ed Sheeran), it appears Mimi’s comeback tune was forgotten.

And, while we hope next week’s charts see a boost after promotional appearances like her stint on ‘Kimmel,’ it’s not looking promising from where we stand.
