If everything Katy Perry touches turns to gold (or better), we can assure you ‘Chained to the Rhythm’ will be no exception.

The first release from her yet-titled follow-up to 2013’s hit-ridden ‘Prism,’ Perry – with a little help from Bob Marley‘s grandson, Skip Marley –  is playing approximately no games with her Max Martin/Sia written comeback single.

Is it game changing and on track to turn the pop world upside down?  Eh…we wouldn’t say so.  Will it dominate radio in every market?  Unquestionably.

Hear it in full inside and you’ll see what we mean:

It seems the completion of a Christina Aguilera album is nearing for the 1000th time.

Just this time last year (and probably the year before that), Aguilera took to press to suggest she was closing the recording process on the follow-up to 2012’s critically acclaimed ‘Lotus.’  Yet, barring a few themed singles here or there, no such release has sprouted.

Despite the previous false alarms, fans of the diva are still clinging to hope – a feat evidenced by the excitement shared over a cryptic text lifted to her official Twitter page recently:

Readers of That Grape Juice know what avid music lovers we are – especially of hits past.

So, just as our retrospective features ‘From the Vault’ and ‘TGJ Replay’ allow us the chance to re-spin the gems and jams of yesterday of one artist, our newest feature Chart Rewind – a variation of our current Retro Rewind assay – accedes salutes to an entire era of music history.

This week we just have to press play on ‘All I Have’ – the LL Cool J-assisted single found aboard Jennifer Lopez‘s ‘This Is Me…Then’ (click here to read our ode to the full album).  Released in December 2002, ‘Have’ – drawing on Debra Laws‘Very Special’ for its sample – reinforced Lopez’s then-dominance over pop charts and came as a fitting follow-up to the top 5 hit ‘Jenny From the Block.’  Blocking her ‘I’m Real’ co-star Ja Rule from the top spot this week in 2003, ‘All I Have’ held down the chart’s summit for four weeks overall and gave the diva her fourth run atop the Hot 100 (Cool J’s first).

Going on to not only become a fan favorite of the singer’s, but become the title of her hotly-selling Vegas show, tuck in below to relive ‘All’ and see who joined J. Lo in the top 25 this week in 14 years ago:

Migos has been on top of the world since the turn of the year.

After laying claim to their first chart-topping single with ‘Bad & Boujee,’ the success of the viral tune helped boost its parent album – ‘Culture’ – to the top of the Billboard 200 (where it can be found this week).  But, as many-an-act can tell you, there’s no high that can’t come to a swift end thanks to a PR disaster.  And, if the recent Twitter response to some controversial comments made by the Atlantan trio is any indication, they could be headed in that negative direction.

That’s right, after Rolling Stone magazine highlighted the rappers’ newfound success, the ‘Fight Night’ emcees took time to weigh in on singer/rapper ILoveMakonnen‘s recent decision to come out the closet:

“Damn Makonnen!” said Quavo, seemingly surprised at the support his “Whip It (Remix)” co-star received. “They supported him?” Offset, another group member, added: “That’s because the world is fucked up.” Takeoff, the third group member, chimed in: “This world is not right.

“We ain’t saying it’s nothing wrong with the gays,” says Quavo. But he suggests that Makonnen’s sexuality undermines his credibility, given the fact that “he first came out talking about trapping and selling Molly, doing all that.”

He frowns. “That’s wack, bro.”

” – Rolling Stone, 2017

Needless to say, this didn’t sit well with many-a-Migos supporter.  Read the response inside and get into the group’s apology for the hoopla:

The late 2016 death of pop star George Michael came as not only a shock to music lovers worldwide, but also another low light for a year filled with the losses of some of the entertainment genre’s most memorable & game changing figures (see:  David Bowie, Prince, etc.).

Now, to the pleasure of the ‘Faith’ singer’s fans, the Recording Academy has announced Michael and Prince are to be the recipients of a full on tribute to their groundbreaking and enduring achievements. And, while 2016 saw a number of unforgettable performances in homage of The Purple One, we at That Grape Juice are hoping the performers selected for Michael’s memorial are equally as talented and appropriate.

A multi-talented singer, songwriter, composer, and instrumentalist, George’s career spanned over 30 years and birthed a number of chart-topping hits with group Wham! (‘Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go,’ ‘Careless Whisper’) before striking out solo (‘Faith,’ ‘Father Figure,’ ‘Freedom,’ etc.).  The first white artist to top the R&B charts, Michael’s interpolation of jazz, gospel, and other rhythmic formats into his pop sound was by no means unheard of for the day, but it was definitely one of the more authentic attempts to do so among his counterparts.

As such, we’ve formatted a list of artists across all genres who we think would give him a Grammy tribute worthy of his legacy.  Get into our list below and weigh in:

Fresh from a thumbs-up worthy performance in Lifetime’s “dramedy” ‘Love by the 10th Date’ alongside Meagan Good, Keri Hilson, and more), Rowland has her sights on finally putting the finishing touches on the follow-up to her 4th solo album, ‘Talk A Good Game’ (much to fan delight).  Add to this plans on releasing a book in March (read more on that by clicking here) and continuing to prep her ‘Chasing Destiny’ winners June’s Diary for the release of their official LP, we’d say the year will have the diva pretty busy…and we ain’t mad at it.

Taking to Essence! Live recently, Rowland dished on all of these topics and even gave an interesting answer when quizzed on her thoughts about a Destiny’s Child biopic.  Did you miss it? Get into her thoughts inside:
