Fergie has been tapped to front the campaign for designer Philipp Plein’s Spring/Summer 2017 campaign.
Interestingly (and perhaps controversially), the ad has been christened ‘Alice In Ghetto Land.’ Yes, you read right. It’s part of a broader project launched by Plein that has already come under scrutiny.
Lensed by famed photographer Steven Klein and featuring model Matthew Terry, the snaps admittedly look lush. The context, however, we’re not so sure about.

Scribbled in history books for some good and not-so-good reasons, 2016 brought with it some of modern music’s most memorable moments.
Now, as the year draws to a close, TGJ is reflecting on 31 moments that rocked – and to some degree shaped – the Urban and Pop musical landscape as we know it.
Next, we reflect on the group of entertainers who fell on the wrong side of #BlackLivesMatter.
As reports of police brutality, unjust court rulings, and other injustices against African Americans continue to dominate headlines, equal rights activist group, #BlackLivesMatter (BLM), continues to take a stance against those very prejudices.
2016 saw mention of BLM permeate pop culture more than ever as a number of celebrities joined the fight against racial discrimination and abuses of power wielded by law officials and enforcers. But, just as the number of supporters rose, so did the number of detractors or combatants of the BLM concept. Many of whom claim the group is divisive and disregards the notion that “all lives matter.”
With their detraction came some serious claps from some of the movement’s staunchest supporters. Tuck in below to see who earned a spot on the BLM hitlist in 2016:
Readers of That Grape Juice know what avid music lovers we are – especially of hits past.
So, as our retrospective features ‘From the Vault’ and ‘TGJ Replay’ allow us the chance to re-spin the gems and jams of yesterday of one artist, our newest feature Chart Rewind – a variation of our current Retro Rewind assay – accedes salutes to an entire era of music history.
This week we believe it’s time to replay R. Kelly‘s biggest hit, ‘I Believe I Can Fly.’ The inspirational tune, featured on the Michael Jordan-led semi-animated film ‘Space Jam,’ made its debut on the Hot 100 this week 20 years ago. Going on to serious chart glory in the following year, ‘Fly’ – despite never soaring to the top of the Billboard singles’ chart (held at bay from #1 by the historic reign of Toni Braxton‘s signature tune ‘Unbreak My Heart’) – would go on to be Kelly’s most successful release to date.
Hovering right under the 2x platinum mark, ‘Fly’ went on to earn the singer 3 Grammys at the 1998 ceremony. Relive the song and tuck in below to see who joined Kelly this week on the Hot 100:
Just two years after topping Billboard charts with his last album, ‘Forest Hills Drive,’ rapper J. Cole drops his fourth studio album, ‘4 Your Eyez Only.’

Armed with 10 songs, ‘Eyez’ – devoid of features much like its predecessor – does see names like Boi 1da, Ron Gilmore, Elite, Frank Dukes, and Cardiak line its production credits.
