Scribbled in history books for some good and not-so-good reasons, 2016 brought with it some of modern music’s most memorable moments.

Now, as the year draws to a close, TGJ is reflecting on 31 moments that rocked – and to some degree shaped – the Urban and Pop musical landscape as we know it.

Next, we reflect on the group of entertainers who fell on the wrong side of #BlackLivesMatter.

As reports of police brutality, unjust court rulings, and other injustices against African Americans continue to dominate headlines, equal rights activist group, #BlackLivesMatter (BLM), continues to take a stance against those very prejudices.

2016 saw mention of BLM permeate pop culture more than ever as a number of celebrities joined the fight against racial discrimination and abuses of power wielded by law officials and enforcers.   But, just as the number of supporters rose, so did the number of detractors or combatants of the BLM concept. Many of whom claim the group is divisive and disregards the notion that “all lives matter.”

With their detraction came some serious claps from some of the movement’s staunchest supporters. Tuck in below to see who earned a spot on the BLM hitlist in 2016:

Are you a member of the “alt-right” neonazi group or something? That’s the only people who use that term derisively – “social justice warriors”.

You can’t force someone to join your movement

    • SMH December 8, 2016

Nobody is forcing anyone to do anything. If you don’t agree with something, keep the idiotic comments to yourself, its that simple.

      • Sebastian December 8, 2016

Nobody is forcing anyone? SJWs come for celebs that don’t tweet about it..

It’s people’s opinions. While I support the movement, i understand those that don’t.

  6. Trumpland December 8, 2016

F**k BLMatter. Racism isn’t the biggest problem in the black community, black on black violence is, blacks dying in masses due to gang violence.Where is the outrage when a black t*** is shot because of gang violence? They won’t report it because their sons are in the gangs. C*nts!

    • Starxavi December 9, 2016

Because you know so much of whats going on in the black community? Because you as a most like white Trump supporter knows the daily struggles and experiences of the black community? Gang violence is no joke and it is a problem, but what is more of a problem is those men and women, who are supposed to be serving and protecting, that are shooting and killing with the no regard or consequences.

    • Caleb December 10, 2016

F*** off you ignorant racist piece of trash. Your name “trumpland” says it all.
