The ‘B’ in actor Michael B. Jordan’s name will now affectionately be deemed ‘booked.’

For the past three years, the 29-year-old actor has become the Hollywood ‘it boy,’ starring in ‘Fruitvale Station’, ‘Fantastic Four,’ and ‘Creed.’ However, after nabbing a role in Marvel’s highly-anticipated ‘Black Panther’ film, Jordan has been flying under the radar in preparation for his villainous role.

Though reclusive from the spotlight, he’s been making some substantial noise behind the scenes; waves that’ll be quite pleasing for fans of the small screen.

“Madonna and I are very different…”

While she is best known for her theatrical and (at times) over the top stage shows and music videos, Queen of Pop Madonna has seen her name line the credits of multiple multiplatinum albums as a contributing songwriter over her 30+ year career.  Recently nominated for induction to the 2017 Songwriters Hall of Fame, the Grammy winner’s live stage shows have seen her play drums, bass guitar, electric guitar, acoustic guitar, and even a ukelele over that same three decade period.

For the previously mentioned reasons and more fans of the iconic pop star were none-too-pleased with Lady Gaga after the ‘Bad Romance’ beauty’s bad choice of words in a recent interview seemed to imply the Material Girl doesn’t write her own material:

Madonna and I are very different. Just saying. I wouldn’t make that comparison at all and I don’t mean to disrespect Madonna. She’s a nice lady and she’s had a fantastic huge career. She’s the biggest pop star of all time, but I play a lot of instruments. I write all my own music. I spend hours and hours a day in the studio. I’m a producer. I’m a writer. What I do is different.

Needless to say, the quote did not fall on deaf ears.  In fact, if the Twitter response is anything to judge by, the 30-year-old singer may have reignited the beef between herself and her nearly 60-year-old counterpart:

You can knock a lot of things about ol’ Jenny from the Block, but what you can’t do is knock the girl’s hustle.

With a schedule full enough to lock down multiple artists’ calendars (see:  judging new dance competition, clothing line, working on new album, finishing up HBO TV biopic of drug lord Griselda Blanco, crime drama series ‘Shades of Blue,’ and more), Jennifer Lopez is now working on yet another series with her buddies over at NBC.

Lady Gaga is putting her artistry at the forefront with new album ‘Joanne.’

Boasting the singer’s rawest sound yet, the LP lands in stores in a mere matter of hours and could – according to some critics – serve as her most important effort yet. For a number of reasons.

In a bid to endear the public to the project, the 30-year-old has launched a new mini-series, aptly named ‘Making Joanne.’

The first episode was unleashed moments ago and features the singer, along with collaborators Mark Ronson and BloodPop, creating ‘A-YO.’

Readers of That Grape Juice know what avid music lovers we are – especially of hits past.

So, just as our retrospective features ‘From the Vault’ and ‘TGJ Replay’ allow us the chance to re-spin the gems and jams of yesterday of one artist, our newest feature Chart Rewind – a variation of our current Retro Rewind assay – accedes salutes to an entire era of music history.

This week we’re getting everything we need and more from ‘Everything’ – the third single from Mary J. Blige‘s 3x platinum third studio album ‘Share My World.’  The Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis produced cut, which famously samples ‘You Are Everything’ [The Stylistics], was accompanied by one of the Grammy winner’s most memorable visuals – a Hawaiian themed clip helmed by hit video director Hype Williams.  Helping it reach its Hot 100 peak of #24 this week 19 years ago, the song is an enduring fan favorite from Blige’s catalog and is undoubtedly a “must hear” on her ‘King & Queen’ tour with fellow R&B royal Maxwell [click here to read more] .

While he holds the title for most #1 albums of any solo act in music history, she holds the title for second-most chart-topping albums among female artists.  Now, after lending Billboard decades of some of its most memorable hits and lyrics, the coming months will see them vie for a new title:  inductee into the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame.

That’s right, both meeting 20-year minimum of respectively contributing lyrics to their own or others’ musical endeavors, rap royal Jay Z and Queen of Pop Madonna (who is already featured in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame) are looking to add yet another highlighted achievement to their already full resumes, as announced today.

Tuck in below to see who they’ll be competing against for the honors:

Having heard Lady Gaga‘s new album, ‘Joanne,’ we can think of a million reasons (all pun intended) why you should buy it.

A collection of masterfully crafted tunes that sees Gaga finally press pause on the gimmicks and shine a much-deserved spotlight on her oft-praised (and envied) vocals, the songbird takes flight on many of the “stripped” numbers that line this, her fifth album.  Granted, we’re real enough to say the set may disappoint fans expecting a “return to form” of sorts of the ‘Poker Face’ performer who once filled her albums with party-starting dance tracks and thunderous bass-buoyed bops (evidence of this can be found on the project’s official releases to date – ‘A-Yo,’ ‘Million Reasons,’ and, of course, ‘Perfect Illusion’).  However, instead of alienating fans of the original Mother Monster, ‘Joanne’ goes left and simply invites listeners in on yet another peek at her artistic maturity – a rollercoaster of a listen that features highs like ‘Come To Mama,’ ‘Diamond Heart,’ and the Florence Welch-assisted ‘Hey Girl.’

But, if you are the type that isn’t really easily convinced, let That Grape Juice help you out by gifting you a free copy of the highly anticipated project.  All you have to do is…

Lady Gaga is fed up with the comparisons.

The 30-year-old superstar made that abundantly clear during an interview on Zane Lowe‘s Beats1 show today.

There to promote new album ‘Joanne,’ which drops tomorrow, the singer’s interview took an interesting turn when host Lowe made a comparison to Madonna.

Though it appears Gaga and Madge have mended fences, few will forget how the latter branded Mother Monster “reductive.”

And it seems the ‘Perfect Illusion’ performer hasn’t either.
