It’s true; ‘Love Lies’ is the gift that keeps on giving for its creators Khalid and Normani.

Produced by Charlie Handsome, the 2018-released cut – found aboard the soundtrack to the 2018 hit film ‘Love, Simon’ – not only collected a slew of awards at its height (including ASCAP, BMI, and iHeartRadio trophies) but also serves as both singers’ first top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 as leading acts.

A global hit as evidenced by its Platinum (or higher) standing in Canada, Australia, United Kingdom, New Zealand, and more, its greatest success has been found in the duo’s native USA where it recently saw its certification status upgraded yet again.

As we reported here, World Suicide Prevention Day 2020 (September 10) brought with it ‘OK Not to be OK’ – the uplifting new single from Demi Lovato and Marshmello.

“It’s okay not to be okay/ It’s okay not to be okay/ When you’re down and you feel ashamed/ It’s okay not to be okay,” Lovato sings on the tune’s inspiring chorus.

Designed to build awareness for Hope For The Day (HFTD) – a non-profit movement empowering the conversation on proactive suicide prevention and mental health education – the song comes as Lovato’s latest effort to bring special attention to mental health-related matters.

The day of its release she took to Instagram to say:

“Since a young age I’ve dealt with suicidal thoughts and depression. I’ve been very vocal in raising the awareness of mental health because it is possible to see the light when you start the work on yourself. I’m living proof that you never have to give into those thoughts. I’ve had many days where I’ve struggled but please let this song be an anthem to anyone who needs it right now.”

Her heartfelt message apparently resonated with many as peruse of the refreshed Hot 100 reveals the tune made a promising premiere in the top 40.
