Unleashed last Friday, the track is shaping up to serve as a solo breakthrough for the former Fifth Harmony member – who has already notched two top 10’s on the Billboard Hot 100 with Khalid and Sam Smith respectively.

‘Motivation’s out of the gate success is being driven in earnest by its high-octane visual, which has gone all sorts of viral.

Now, as it picks up ample steam on streaming platforms, it’s also proving a major winner on radio too.

Already being hailed as a breakthrough moment for the New Orleans native, the sassy jam has found favor with not only fans but celebrities too.

For, the likes of Ariana Grande, Missy Elliott, Ciara, Sam Smith, Megan Thee Stallion, and fellow ‘Motivation’ maven Kelly Rowland have all taken to social media to shower praise on the rising star.

From guest starring roles on Sam Smith‘s ‘Dancing with a Stranger’ and more to dancing by her lonesome on ‘Waves,’ former Fifth Harmony star Normani has been making quite the splash since her departure from the group.

As she dances closer to release of her long-awaited debut solo LP, however, she’s looking to turn that splash into a tsunami.  What better way than with the summery jam, ‘Motivation’?

Produced by Max Martin and co-written by Ariana Grande alongside Savan Kotetcha and Ilya, the song – announced just last week – comes as the latest serving from the highly anticipated set.

As reported, Normani‘s planned performance with Sam Smith at the 2019 Billboard Music Awards was unfortunately pulled after the British singer injured his vocal chords while touring abroad.

While gutted that the pair wouldn’t be rocking the stage together, many were hopeful 22-year-old Normani would press on and rep their duet ‘Dancing With A Stranger’ herself.

Supporters of the singer even took to Change.org to create a petition demanding it; a petition that, as at writing, has been signed over 2000 times.

It remains to be seen if producers for the May 1st ceremony will take heed to the fan requests. But, as it stands, the official word is that the Fifth Harmony star won’t be performing.

Not to be confused with her award-winning remix of Sam Smith‘s 2014 hit, ‘Stay With Me,’ her latest release is a remake of the anthemic rock cut by the Rod Stewart band Faces.  Originally released in 1971, the R&B diva’s stirring revamp of the tune comes as her contribution to the deluxe soundtrack for season 1 of the hit Netflix original series, ‘The Umbrella Academy’ (of which she also stars).
