Bestowed upon Black music creators whose dedication to the art form has greatly influenced the industry and whose legacy of service inspires countless individuals worldwide, Mimi received the honor along with Lenny Kravitz.

Ayra Starr continues to shine with ‘Commas,’ her first release of 2024.

A melodic toast to her seismic ascend, the Nigerian-bred belle belts:

“See my fire burning bright… steady increasing the commas, commas commas commas.”

Arriving on the heels of Starr’s 2024 GRAMMY nomination for Best African Music Performance for ‘Rush,’ the song sounds poised to become another fan-favorite.

Speaking on the record, the Sabi Girl said:

“Since I recorded ‘Commas’, I’ve listened to it everyday because of how it makes me feel. Amongst other things, it’s my love letter to people that have rejected me at any point. People should listen and feel confident by knowing that they can increase the commas in anything they do in life.”

Ledisi is giving fans another taste of the gems set to line her forthcoming album, ‘Good Life,’ by unveiling the sonically delectable song ‘Perfect Stranger.’

Tapping fellow R&B veteran Kenny Lattimore to assist, the sensual groove sounds like a slow-burning nod to the classic jams of the genre’s heyday.

“Is it taboo to want you? / You feel it too, don’t you? / We’re in the groove, it’s perfect / You make me want to love a perfect stranger,” Leddy croons on the chorus.

Usher has unlocked the video for his newest single ‘Ruin.’

The R&B icon recruits Afrobeats star Pheelz to join him aboard the melodic jam (which the latter also produced).

Also infused with sounds of Amapiano, ‘Ruin’ serves as the latest taste of Usher’s ninth studio album, ‘Coming Home’ – which is due February 9 (two days before Usher headlines the Super Bowl Halftime Show 2024).

The visual for the track reunites the icon with revered director Dave Meyers, who also helmed the clips for ‘U Remind Me’ and ‘Risk It All’ from ‘The Color Purple’ soundtrack.

Shot from start to finish with an Apple iPhone 15 Pro, the video draws on the home as the allegory for love – with the performer navigating the different meanings of the word through via a number of striking scenes.

Mary J. Blige may be enjoying her 6th week atop Billboard’s R&B charts with the October 2023-released cut ‘Still Believe in Love,’ but that doesn’t mean the diva is resting on her laurels.

Barely 3 weeks after kicking off 2024 with the unveiling of the music video for the DJ Khaled and Remy Ma-assisted ‘Gone Forever,’ MJB has re-teamed with her ‘Believe’ co-star Vado for the new song ‘Beautiful Life Allstars.’

Uniquely, the tune sees the GRAMMY winner revive her Rap alter ego “Brooklyn” (which she famously introduced in the 2006 Hot 100 top 40 hit ‘Enough Cryin‘ from ‘The Breakthrough’ album released the previous year).

Because only a week separates fans of Usher from the February 9 release of his long-awaited new album ‘Coming Home‘ (the follow-up to 2016’s ‘Hard II Love‘), expect to see much of the multi-hyphenate superstar across your screen in promotion of the effort as well as his first headlining gig at the Super Bowl that will follow on February 11.

And while reports have it the new project sees the 45-year-old tap big names like Burna Boy, Latto, Summer Walker, 21 Savage, The-Dream, and others to serve as guests, one of its most anticipated tracks is ‘Ruin‘ which features Nigerian star Pheelz.

Two months after first acquainting her growing legion of fans with the song Truth or Dare,’ one of many gems set to line her March-due eponymous debut album, Ty lifted the lid on the cut’s official music video.

“So let’s play truth or dare, dare you to forget / That you used to treat me just like anyone / Truth or dare? Is it true you care? / Now that you can see the love from everyone (tell me),” she croons on the Sammy Soso-produced cut.

Donald Glover continues to make his presence felt across a multitude of mediums – with his latest offering being a refreshed take on ‘Mr. & Mrs Smith.’

Returning to screens on Amazon’s Prime Video, its newest incarnation reimagines the narrative as a series.

Starring and produced by Glover (who appears alongside Maya Erskine), the show follows a faux couple who were paired together by a spy agency to enter an undercover marriage. What follows throughout the 8-episode series is a high-octane combination of romance and drama.

Ahead of the show’s February 2 debut, That Grape Juice caught up with Glover at the London premiere of ‘Mr. & Mrs. Smith.’
