Relative newcomer Tyla has been making a splash on Billboard charts since her breakout single, ‘Water,’ flooded social media timelines thanks to a viral dance challenge.
After riding the wave all the way into the Hot 100’s top 10 this week (as we reported here), the South African starlet is capitalizing on the momentum by unveiling three new songs from her 2024-due debut album.

Delivery of the three new tunes came after ample teasing on the 21-year-old’s Instagram as well as a recent stop at ‘A Colors Show‘ where she gave ‘On’ the live treatment.

On and On is #1 for me. Then Butterflies. Truth or Dare gives me Umbrella vibes. I can see how she says “dare” getting annoying lol

I…think she’ll fit the niche Rihanna did. Girl comes out of nowhere, likable, pretty, good vibes. Unlike Rihanna I can’t see her acknowledging drama or beef. She seems genuine.
I def see her being linked to an American rapper soon for publicity though.
I’m not sold on her yet – Water is annoying and these songs sound like replicas of that song. I wish her well but I need a bit more substance
