Afrobeats titans Wizkid and Asake have teamed up for a tantalizing new EP, ‘REAL, Vol. 1.’ And it’s already sending fans into a frenzy before its release.
Today sees the excitement cranked up a notch with the arrival of the set’s lead single, ‘Jogodo.’
A swagger-soaked, flavor-filled affair, the track is powered by hard-hitting percussion courtesy of Magicsticks.
It leans into the semantics of its title, which in Nigerian pidgin means a state of being “intoxicated” or under the influence.
Speaking on their team up, Wiz said:
“Working on this record with Asake came naturally. We speak the same musical language.”
“When Wizkid and I collaborate, it feels special because it’s coming from a real place of friendship, mutual respect, and love for our culture.”
The pair previously made waves with ‘MMS,’ which netted them a GRAMMY-nomination.

The flavorsome track serves a as the latest taste of her hotly anticipated debut album, ‘My Ego Told Me To’ (due February 20).
A team-up with Jamaican super-producer Rvssian and Valiant, it sees the Little Mix alum continue to assert her solo gravitas.
Speaking on the release, the stage blazer said:
“Everything in divine timing, always. I hope this song gives you confidence, makes you feel seen, and reminds you to take up space…. unapologetically.”
‘Most Wanted’ also comes as she gears up to hit the road on a headline UK tour.

It’s been over a decade since Jill Scott blessed fans with her last studio album, but she’s hit the promo streets running since kicking off the new year by announcing the February 13 arrival of her long-awaited new LP ‘To Whom This May Concern.’
Since delivering the news, Scott’s dropped multiple singles from the project including the warmly received ‘Beautiful People’ and ‘Pressha.’
And just as R&B lovers were getting acquainted with those tunes, Jill took to popular live music Web series ‘A COLORS SHOW‘ to introduce them to yet another gem from the ‘Concern’ tracklist: ‘Don’t Play.’
“Baby, don’t play with it / You’ve just been humping me shallowly, superficially / Baby, don’t close your eyes / You can see and feel at the same time,” she wails in the innuendo-laden song.

After thrilling viewers at the 82nd Venice International Film Festival in September, the American crime thriller ‘Dead Man’s Wire‘ was given a limited theatrical release on January 9.
Winning over even more critics during that weeklong run, the suspense-driven flick – based on the actual hostage standoff involving famed kidnapper Tony Kiritsis – is charging toward a wide theater rollout on January 16.
“On February 8, 1977, Kiritsis entered the office of Richard Hall, president of the Meridian Mortgage Company, and took him hostage with a sawed-off shotgun wired with a ‘dead man’s wire’ from the trigger to Tony’s own neck,” the official logline reads.
Directed by Gus Van Sant, ‘Wire’ boasts an all-star cast including Dacre Montgomery, Bill Skarsgard, Al Pacino, Colman Domingo, and more.

As is the case with all releases with multiple versions, it’s the iteration with the most traction that receives the ultimate credit on the coveted count. In a unique move, when Larsson’s name was omitted, PinkPantheress requested she be added – and she was. We love to see it!
The growing success of ‘Stateside’ also comes as Larsson continues to bask in the rays of virality beaming on her from her hit ‘Midnight Sun’ and the revival of 2015 smash ‘Lush Life.’
