Whether scribbled in history books for some good, great, or awesomely bad reasons, 2018 brought with it some of modern Pop culture’s most memorable moments.

Now, as the year draws to a close, TGJ is reflecting on 31 moments that rocked – and to some degree shaped – the Urban and Pop musical landscape as we know it.

Harper’s Bazaar celebrates three generations of fearlessness on their first ever digital cover, which glowingly spotlights Jada Pinkett Smith, her daughter Willow, and mom Adrienne Banfield-Norris. The latter of whom is 64 and fabulous!

The stunning spread, lensed in honor of the trio’s hugely popular Facebook series Red Table Talk, sees Pinkett Smith pledge her support for Willow’s life choices, stating that the 18-year-old’s happiness is her priority.

SZA scorched the scene with debut album ‘CTRL’ and is currently cooking its follow-up.

Details are scarce about the as yet untitled set, which at different points looked to be a repackage and then an all-new project.

However, one thing the singer wants to make clear is that she’s bringing the heat.

Taking to social media, she shared a clip of a fresh track – which she captioned simply “Riding w new thoughts.”

More than a song, it’s now a movement – which now includes a like-titled tour that plays to international

This year’s edition is underway in Europe and most recently made a festive stop in Sweden.

Backed by all the expected bells and whistles, Mimi took vocal flight with holiday classics a la ‘All I Want,’ ‘Joy To The World,’ and ‘Oh Holy Night.’ She also peppered in #1 smashes such as ‘We Belong Together’ and ‘Hero.’

Toni Braxton made headlines last week when she took to Jada Pinkett-Smith‘s web talk show, ‘Red Table Talk,’ to discuss her highly publicized divorce from Mint Condition star Keri Lewis after 12 years of marriage.

Insinuating the split was due to her diagnosed illnesses (see: lupus, microvascular angina, etc.), the recount of the failure of her first marriage ignited a firestorm of criticism against her singer/songwriter ex-husband.

“I felt shallow because my ex-husband and I broke up for money issues,” she stated. “I found out I had lupus at the time, I couldn’t make money because I had lupus, I had to cancel the show. That was my personal contribution to the marriage failing, because who wants to take care of a person who’s sick all the time?”

Tired of the hoopla, Lewis took to Instagram to defend himself and even offered details surrounding the couple’s prenuptial agreement. Read his lengthy statement inside:
