The music landscape is changing at the speed of light.

In recent times, a major catalyst for said shapeshifting has been the advent of streaming.

Indeed, in the last 18 months, chart and plaque certifications in major markets such as the US and UK have been revised to factor in on-demand streams.

The latest entity to embrace the format is the Grammy Awards.

In a press statement issued to That Grape Juice and other outlets, organisers for music’s most prestigious night revealed amended rules – which are notably stream-friendly.

Late Rap icon Tupac is the latest artist to receive the biopic treatment.

‘All Eyez On Me’ arrives 20 years after the sudden passing of the Hip-Hop pioneer, who was fatally shot in 1996.

Directed by Benny Boom, anticipation for the flick has been sky-high – especially following the box office success of N.W.A bio ‘Straight Outta Compton’ last summer.

Now, on what would have been the star’s 45th birthday, a first look trailer for the flick has unleashed. The resemblance between lead Demetrius Shipp Jr and the rapper is uncanny.

Thought Beyonce’s ‘Love Drought’ was about her husband Jay-Z?

Well think again, because the cut’s co-writer has revealed that its lyrics have absolutely nothing to do with the rapper and everything to do with Beyonce’s Parkwood Entertainment.

Nick-Jonas-Last-Year-Was-Complicated-thatgrapejuice

With hits ‘Jealous,’ and ‘Teacher’ to its credit, former Jonas Brother star Nick Jonas saw his debut album launch him to solo success.  Successfully breaking the chains of “teen pop star” to respected adult artist, the ‘Chains’ singer managed to wiggle his way to the Hot 100’s upper half more than once over his debut era.

Yes, the album itself managed an impressive placement on the Billboard 200 upon its arrival (#6 peak), but with 37,000 sold its first week the numbers weren’t exactly singing the same tune its singles boasted.  As ample buzz and heightened star power picked up any slack the figures left (in the eye of the general public), the triple threat divo – courtesy of his new album ‘Last Year Was Complicated’ (in stores now) – is ready to put both concepts to the test yet again.

Kicking the new era off with songs ‘Close’ and ‘Bacon,’ Jonas was hoping the releases would help his latest sizzle on charts in ways its predecessor did not.  Unfortunately, if newly surfaced reports are any indication, ‘Complicated’ misses the mark…quite a bit.

For the 6th consecutive week, thanks to some record breaking streaming, the album charts have had his name penciled in its perch.  Passing the billion streams mark recently, ‘Views’ currently holds the record for the top four streaming weeks in U.S. history – by its lonesome.  Fending off stiff competition from the likes of Beyonce, Meghan Trainor, Ariana Grande, and so many more during its reign, word has it Drizzy will be enjoying a 7th week at the top next week.

But, before we get head of ourselves, tuck in to see this week’s refreshed Billboard 200 to find out where all of your other faves from today landed:
