Marvin Sapp may have left longtime fans sour after that controversial fundraising video, but now the award-winning Gospel star is looking to turn lemons into lemonade by releasing new music inspired by the shocking event.
Tamar Braxton is back with new song ‘You on You,’ and it was definitely worth the wait!
Originally due on digital shelves April 11, Braxton revealed the new track was delayed a week due to clearance issues of its sample of the 1987 Suzanne Vega classic ‘Tom’s Diner.’
Arriving as promised on Friday (April 18), the new song sees the GRAMMY nominee flex her revenge skills in the sexiest manner.
“Can you tell me what you’re seeing / When I show you this mirror? / I can’t blame you for leaving / But I can’t be any clearer / I know you’re in your feelings / And I bet it feel familiar / But you still don’t have a clue / I just pulled a you on you (I just pulled a you on you),” she sings over Tricky Stewart production.
The first taste of new music to come from her long-awaited new album, the follow-up to 2017’s ‘Bluebird of Happiness,’ hop inside to get acquainted with the latest from Tamar.
Just a week after Leon Thomas marked a career milestone with his first top 40 hit on the Hot 100 thanks to the Chris Brown-enlisted remix of his song ‘Mutt,’ the GRAMMY winner is looking to repeat the feat by tapping fellow singer-actor Halle Bailey to assist.
Joining forces on the amply teased new song ‘Rather Be Alone,’ the singer-songwriters trade verses about giving up on a love that’s no longer worth fighting for.
“I rather be alone, rather alone (Oh) / Than being a broken home, I rather be alone / Oh, rather be alone (Oh) / I’d rather be alone / Tryin’ to do this for the both of us on my own,” they sing on the chorus.
‘Rather’ comes as the latest taste of new tunes set to line the deluxe edition of his latest album ‘MUTT‘ – a repackage reportedly set to include features from Brown, Bailey, Kehlani, Big Sean, and more.

Naysayers who bet money that ‘Million Dollar Baby‘ performer Tommy Richman would be a two-hit wonder after his 2024 breakout smashes ‘Baby’ and ‘Devil Is a Lie‘ are set to be proven liars yet again.
Richman’s pushback against the sentiment was the inspiration behind his latest single ‘Actin Up.’
“[It’s] a statement piece made a few months ago as an act of frustration and feeling underestimated; it’s an anthem that speaks about giving an underdog a chance,” he said about the Jonah Roy and Kavi-produced bop.
And though ‘Actin Up’ is blowing up on social media (namely Tik Tok), the song has yet to crack the Hot 100 – a status undoubtedly set to change thanks to help from Rap polarizer Sexyy Red.
“Bend it over, shake that a–, show that print (Ooh) / Clean a– b-tch, smell good, I ain’t got no scent (No) / Err’body lookin’, I’m the baddest in this b-tch (Yeah) / Got some booty shorts on, c–chie fat, I’m feelin’ thick,” she spits on the tune’s remix dropped Friday (April 18).

Nearly 15 years separate fans of Keri Hilson from her last album, 2010’s ‘No Boys Allowed,’ but the wait for a new body of work finally came to a close on Friday (April 18) with the long-awaited release of ‘We Need to Talk: Love.’
Delivered after years of false starts, personal struggles, and professional setbacks, Hilson unlocked news about the LP just a month ago before quickly following with its lead single ‘Bae.’
Having already given anxious fans a preview of five of the project’s songs, now the 42-year-old is giving them a listen in full to the 9-song opus.
