Confusion currently encases Rihanna‘s ‘ANTI’ album campaign, but that hasn’t stopped the Bajan beauty from continuing to build her empire.

In the absence of any charting music, the 27-year-old has opted to flex her acting muscles – this time in Luc Besson‘s newest movie ‘Valérian and the City of a Thousand Planets.’

The star’s involvement with the flick (reportedly a prominent one) took her to France this week, where she has been shooting the Sci-Fi flick.

Little is known about the specifics of Rih’s role, but the film itself follows time-traveling agent Valerian, who is sent to investigate a galactic empire, along with his partner Laureline. Actor Clive Owen and Cara Delevingne are also set to star.

With shooting seemingly wrapped for the model, Besson has been gushing about her performance.

Better late than never.

Future infuriated fans earlier today when his much-touted new mixtape ‘Purple Reign’ was delayed without explanation.

The Future Hive, as they’ve collectively come to be known, need not fret, though. Because the DJ Esco  and Metro Boomin produced set has finally landed.

Prior to its arrival, the rapper’s spirited supporters descended on the Instagram of his ex Ciara. As widely reported, the MC has taken to social media to slam his former fiance over “alleged” visitation issues pertaining to their one-year-old son. The singer has vehemently denied the allegations.

The R&B siren has has been busy shooting her BET talent-search ‘Chasing Destiny,’ but that hasn’t halted production on her upcoming fifth solo album.

Ms. Kelly whet appetites late last year with club jam ‘Dumb,’ yet it seems as though she’s gearing up to drop more new music in a mere matter of weeks.

What happens when two artists from the two of music’s biggest girlbands join forces? Apparently, smash hit bliss!

This week’s From The Vault pick is Melanie C‘s ‘Never Be The Same Again‘ featuring the incomparable Lisa ‘Left Eye’ Lopes.

A rather unlikely pairing on paper, it quickly becomes clear upon listening to ‘Same’ that the ladies were onto winner. Released in early 2000, the track served as the third single from Sporty Spice’s debut effort ‘Northern Star‘ and saw her showcasing a radically different facet of her artistry. Especially when compared to the sugar-coated sound that defined “Spice Mania,” which took over the globe (with the firmest of grips) during the latter 90’s.

Rhett Lawrence produced the track which he co-wrote with Chisolm and Lopes – who was in the midst of expanding her brand following TLC‘s blockbuster album, ‘FanMail‘.

The track proved to be a huge European success for the duo, hitting #1 in the UK and #5 in Germany. Sadly, it didn’t chart in the US but fared very well in Australia where it reached the second position of the ARIA chart.

With its futuristic feel and modern-design elements, the video for the single was very much carved in the vein of what could be seen on MTV in a post-Matrix reality.

Lensed by Francis Lawrence, the visual presents Melanie in a sterile, Feng-shui environment meditating to music, running (no doubt to the top of the charts) before being joined by Left-Eye for a synchronised Tai-Chi session. The latter dubbed as captivating “choreography” in itself.

With this collaboration, the girls showed that mixing Spice with touch of TLC can yield the most delicious of results. We yearn for more out-of-the-box pairings such as this. Hopefully, today’s top talent will do away with the rigid politics and oblige.

Meek Mill isn’t finished with his nemesis Drake.

Eager to reclaim any dignity he may have lost when the latter won their war of words last year the ‘Big Daddy’ rapper has recorded brand new material he hopes will reignite the feud.

The new music appears on his ‘4/4’ release which serves as a teaser for his forthcoming ‘Dreamchasers 4’ effort and sees him respond directly to Drake’s position that he has been overshadowed by Nicki Minaj, his Grammy nominated rapper girlfriend.

Nicki Minaj‘s ABC Family TV series is on its way and today has welcomed the very first official snap pulled from its set.

The show tells the story of Minaj’s upbringing and will lead the way for the rapper’s fourth studio album and sees the supermodel Selita Ebanks join the cast as her mother before production kicked off in Queens, New York this week.

Welcome to Retro Rewind, the new TGJ original feature that invites our readers on a journey to Entertainment’s glorious past.

Today, as news of a ‘Fresh Prince of Bel Air’ reboot heats excites the show’s fans we celebrate one of the show’s more powerful scenes.

In it, Will (aptly portrayed by Will Smith) attempts to build a relationship with the father he was abandoned by as a child only to find himself faced with hurt and disappointment when the man (portrayed by Ben Vereen) rejects him.

Showcasing layers African-American characters are often written without,  Will’s cracked delivery of “how come he doesn’t want me” would go on to stand as one of the television’s most memorable (and heartbreaking) lines.
