The only thing shining brighter than the Christmas tree in New York City’s Rockefeller Center is the megawatt roster of stars who aligned to perform at the lighting ceremony.

Aired on NBC Wednesday night (November 29), the 2023 edition of the annual ‘Christmas in Rockefeller Center’ TV special – hosted by EMMY and GRAMMY-winning Pop diva Kelly Clarkson with help from ‘TODAY‘ anchors Savannah Guthrie, Hoda Kotb, Al Roker, and Craig Melvin – courted multiple performances from the likes of Pop icon Cher as well as Chloe Bailey, Barry Manilow, KeKe Palmer and Adam Blackstone, David Foster and Katharine McPhee, and many more.

As critics’ and industry year-end charts reiterate, SZA had a hell of a 2023.

After dropping her long-awaited sophomore album, 2022’s ‘SOS,’ the chart-topping songstress broke boundaries and records for R&B – matching or even surpassing some jaw-dropping stats previously lifted by divas like Aretha Franklin, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Janet Jackson, and Mary J. Blige (as we reported here).

The ongoing success of the project is why she was rightfully crowned Hitmaker of the Year over at ‘Variety.’

What’s more, if a deluxe edition of ‘SOS,’ an expanded world tour, and those GRAMMY nods are anything to judge by, her 2024 may be even bigger.

After rocking BET+ with 2022’s ‘A Royal Surprise,‘ lovebirds “Riley” (Jennifer Freeman) and “Mandla” (Thapelo Mokoena) return with a holiday-themed installment to the film franchise: ‘A Royal Christmas Surprise.’

One of 12 yuletide-flavored titles the streamer has unveiled for its 2023 slate, ‘Surprise’ – directed by Beautie Masvaure Alt – tells the story of how Riley and Mandla “navigate tension between the matriarchs of their respective families, planning their engagement party, and another ‘Royal Surprise’ that puts into question the couple’s entire future” (the official plotline reveals).

Jennifer Lopez is firing from all cylinders with the launch of ‘This Is Me…Now’ – her first studio album in a decade.

As reported, the project is being serviced as an audio-visual experience in that it will come paired with a like-titled theatrical film that will premiere on Amazon’s Prime Video.

The most star-studded of BET+’s 12 original films for its 2023 holiday slate, ‘The Christmas Ringer’ – starring Trenyce Cobbins, Tyler Lepley, Kelly Price, Tamika Scott (of Xscape), Q. Parker of 112, Akbar V, and Chrisette Michele – also comes as one of the season’s most anticipated yuletide movies overall.

Written and directed by Patricia Cuffie-Jones, ‘Ringer’ tells the story of a floundering singer whose attempt at a Christmas comeback was derailed by her crook manager-fiance and a series of other unfortunate events. Said occurrences led her home for the holidays and into an unlikely choir competition that has a cash prize big enough to change her and her family’s lives.

Although Ari Lennox is one of her generation’s most-praised female R&B artists, she’s never shied away from giving flowers to her peers and predecessors.

Jimmy Fallon took a break from his hosting duties of NBC’s ‘The Tonight Show’ to hop over to ABC’s ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ to promote his latest holiday single, ‘Wrap Me Up.’

Featuring GRAMMY-winning Pop star Meghan Trainor, the appearance marked the first live performance the Gian Stone-produced cut has gotten since it arrived on digital shelves November 17.
