It’s officially GRAMMY season! And today (November 8) brought with it one of the most poignant moments on the journey to Music’s Biggest Night. For, the veil was finally lifted on nominations for the GRAMMY Awards 2025.

In toasting some of the most resonating releases of the last year, a number of expected names made a major splash on the tally. Namely, Beyonce – who leads the pack with a history-making 11 nominations.

Elsewhere, however, there have been a number of pleasant surprises and shocking snubs.

The Lion King makes a regal return to the big screen this December with a seismic new story to tell.

‘Mufasa: The Lion King’ illuminates the story of Mufasa and functions as a prequel to the events that unfolded in the classic 1994 film and the films that followed.

A live-action affair in the vein of the 2019 revival of ‘The Lion King,’ the eagerly awaited film is directed by Academy Award winner Barry Jenkins.

Aaron Pierre leads in the titular role of Mufasa and will star alongside Kelvin Harrison Jr (who features as Taka). Beyonce reprises her role as Nala, while her daughter Blue Ivy Carter will star as Kiara. Donald Glover is also back aboard as Simba.

Mark those calendars because ‘Mufasa: The Lion King’ roars into theaters globally on December 20.

Music’s biggest calendar night, the 67th annual GRAMMY Awards, are set to air on February 2, 2025 live on CBS.

The industry’s brightest stars will align to shine at the event, which takes place at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles and will boast performances from the creme de la creme.

Today, excitement for the ceremony soared to new heights as its committee revealed which artists have been nominated in which categories.

Brandy and Monica may be celebrated by music lovers as two of modern R&B’s most revered female vocalists, but that reverence hasn’t always been extended from the industry itself: namely the awards show circuit.

To date, the divas have only won one GRAMMY – a shared victory at the 1999 ceremony for 1998’s ‘Boy is Mine.’

As Dua Lipa storms across arenas and stadiums on the first leg of her highly anticipated ‘Radical Optimism Tour‘ in support of her third studio album of the same name, one of the LP’s tunes her beloved fans are most excited to hear live is ‘These Walls.’

Arriving to digital shelves after its official release on Friday (November 8), ‘Walls’ comes as the fourth cut from ‘Optimism’ to get the single treatment following hits ‘Houdini,’ ‘Training Season,’ and Illusion.’

Kevin Gates may be busy rocking stages across North America as part of Nick Cannon‘s 2024 ‘Wild ‘N Out Live Tour,’ but that hasn’t stopped the 2x GRAMMY nominee from cranking out new music.

Having kicked off the year with ‘The Ceremony’ album (which soared to the top 10 of Rap charts in February), Gates is ending 2024 with a string of new singles in preparation for the LP’s yet-titled follow-up.

“Whoever don’t want me, I am not stressing / I do not jug baby, I’m a blessing / Blessings on your journey, find you something better / I ain’t gonna lie, look low and high,” he raps on the EJ Grimes-produced ‘Renewed Ambition.’

Barely giving fans a week to get acquainted with the November 1-released ‘Ambition,’ Kevin followed up with the new song ‘Feel‘ on Friday (November 8).

The Estate of Whitney E. Houston is celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Pop diva’s history-making visit to South Africa by fully remastering its iconic live concert.

Seeing Houston belt some of her biggest hits including ‘I Will Always Love You,’ ‘I Wanna Dance with Somebody,’ ‘How Will I Know,’ ‘Greatest Love of All,’ and more, the new project comes just weeks after its accompanying film, ‘Whitney Houston: The Concert for a New South Africa (Durban),’ was shown in theaters in nearly 900 cinemas across over 25 countries in late October.

What’s more, the 24-track effort is being packaged with the new studio song ‘Love Is’ written by Carvin Winans and produced by Nat Adderley.
