‘The Proud Family: Louder & Prouder’ is back for another dynamic run on Disney+.

Season 2 of the revival series “continues to tell entertaining and laugh-out-loud stories, while highlighting culturally specific experiences of the Black community and addressing universal themes.

Much like the beloved first run of ‘The Proud Family,’ the new series centers around Penny and her family: parents Oscar and Trudy, twin siblings BeBe and CeCe, and her grandmother Suga Mama.

Per Disney+, the sophomore will continue to feature notable names as guests including Gabrielle Union, Normani, Leslie Odom Jr., Anthony Anderson, Dominique Dawes, Gabby Douglas, Laurie Hernandez, Jane Lynch, Holly Robinson Peete, Maury Povich, Storm Reid, Courtney B. Vance, and Liana Mendoza.

It’s almost time for the 54th Annual NAACP Image Awards.

Unveiling its full list of nominations today, the prestigious awards honor actors, actresses, singers, authors, and activists of color, in and out of the entertainment industry.

Beyonce, Kendrick Lamar, ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’, and ‘Insecure’ lead the pack of music, film, and TV nominees.

Queen Bey and K. Dot top the music tally with 5 nominations each, while Marvel’s hotly anticipated ‘Black Panther’ sequel and the Quinta Brunson-led ‘Abbott’ amassed 12 and 9 noms in their respective fields.

Elsewhere ABC and Netflix lead in the TV and motion picture categories.

The iHeartRadio Music Awards, one of music’s biggest nights, has announced the star-studded nominations roster for its 2023 edition.

Airing live from Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on March 27, the event – now in its 10th year – toasts the most-played artists and songs on iHeartRadio stations and the iHeartRadio app throughout 2022.

Leading this year’s highly competitive list are Lizzo, Taylor Swift, and Harry Styles – who garnered 7 nods apiece.  Behind them, Drake, Dua Lipa, and Bad Bunny are among the big names who nabbed 6 mentions while Doja Cat and Beyoncé are among the acts who have 5 each.

Jeremy Pope takes center stage in A24’s powerful drama ‘The Inspection.’

Inspired by the real-life experiences of Elegance Bratton, the film follows the character Ellis (played by Pope) as he navigates homophobia while away at Marine boot camp – and back home with his mother (Gabrielle Union).

Pope’s piercing, potent performance earned him a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor and is generating plenty of Oscar buzz too.

That Grape Juice‘s Chet Kincaid caught up with the Flordia native, who opened up about his personal connection to the narrative and its broader importance – especially in today’s climate.

The Supremes, Slick Rick, and Nile Rodgers may all be hailed as pioneers for the grounds they’ve broken in music genres of R&B/Pop, Hip-Hop/Rap, and Funk/Disco respectively, but despite that reverence none of them were ever recognized for their own albums or singles by the Recording Academy.

That is set to change February 5 as all three legendary acts will join the hallowed halls of the GRAMMYs’ Lifetime Achievement recipients.

Even before the tragic death of Takeoff in November, chart-topping Rap group Migos had already called it quits as member Offset embarked on a solo career while Take joined forces with Quavo to form Unc & Phew.

And while the duo’s debut album, ‘Only Built for Infinity Links,’ has garnered a solid commercial response on charts to date, longtime fans – undeterred by the Migos split – seem to still be holding on to the trio’s biggest hits.

Evidence of that came via a slew of recently updated certifications at the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), a feat made possible thanks to impressive ongoing streams and digital sales of favorites from the group. Said figures were also given a boost due to supporters paying respects to Takeoff.
