The mega-seller found herself at the centre of a fake-tracklist storm last week, after well-executed line-sheet – supposedly featuring new songs from the re-release of her self-titled album – begun doing the rounds.
Featuring collaborations with the likes of Rihanna and Justin Timberlake, the image gained ample traction and was covered by a multitude of outlets – including many of the major variety.
We, however, held out for official confirmation, which materlized just a few days later and featured none of the alleged new numbers. Instead, two fresh cuts – ‘7/11’ and ‘Ring Off’ – were confirmed along with remixes featuring the likes of Kanye West and Pharrell Williams.
With the dust from the confusion settling, a rep from Bey’s team spoke with Billboard about the episode, as well as plans for the singer’s future releases.

The racy rebel, whose new album had been delayed for more than a year due to competition from chart rivals, must finally feel that the coast is clear as reliable intel informs us that a big reveal is nigh.

Many thought it would never occur, but Azealia Banks finally looks set to release her long-awaited debut album ‘Broke With Expensive Taste’…tomorrow!
Along with the cover and tracklisting, which you can check out above and below, the rapper confirmed the unique roll-out by way of Spotify which have the LP available to stream now.
The project’s arrival comes after a series of delays dating back to 2012 when its lead single ‘212’ descended and dominated. Earlier this year, Banks bounced from her record label Interscope after an uber public spat – which begs the question of which label is rolling out the release. We’re hearing murmurs about a deal with Capitol Records (another Universal Music imprint), but confirmation is pending.

Industry forecasters predicted that country pop diva Taylor Swift‘s new album, ‘1989,’ would soar right to #1 with over a million sold its first week. What they didn’t predict, however, is how far past the 1 million mark the record would scorch.
With official numbers finally tallied, reports have it the album shifted 1.287 million copies its first week and, in turn, etched the singer’s name in history books as the only artist to have three albums sell over 1 million copies in one week.
“…of the top selling albums on the Billboard 200 chart for the week, 1989 sold more than Nos. 2-107 combined.
Or, yet another way to view 1989’s massive bow: It debuts with more copies sold than the combined first-weeks of the last eight No. 1-debuting albums. Note: Swift’s 1989 was briefly on sale for 99 cents during its release week through the Microsoft’s Music Deals app, but those sales were not counted by SoundScan.”
As if that’s not reason enough to celebrate, the album’s lead single, ‘Shake It Off,’ has finally shaken Meghan Trainor‘s ‘All About That Bass’ from the top spot of the Hot 100. This is in addition to the four other songs from ‘1989’ that made a debut in the Hot 100 this week. The five entries put Taylor Swift in second place (behind Aretha Franklin) with most Hot 100 entries by a female ever.
With a #1 single and album simultaneously and five entries in the Hot 100, the question is now: will that Taylor Swift reign ever let up?

Nick Jonas and Tinashe are wasting no time hitting the promo trail for their remix to ‘Jealous’.
The duo opened up today’s episode of BET’s 106 & Park with a crowd-pleasing live offering of the track which was unleashed earlier this week.
With the original having hit #27 on the Billboard Hot 100 and its new incarnation garnering ample play on radio, the performance could easily provide an added boost to the track’s trajectory ahed of the release of its housing album – Jonas’ self-titled debut (due November 11th).
