Ever prepared vocally, Usher stepped into the spotlight last night to perform a song often synonymous with vocal scrutiny – the US National Anthem.

The star, who is gearing up to hit the road on his new tour ‘The UR Experience’, rocked the house with his take on ‘The Star Spangled Banner’ at the Cavaliers game. Widely watched, the event was hailed for being the homecoming for basketball star Lebron James.

Chris Brown‘s drive towards skewing more music focal has seen his sit-down interviews becoming fewer and further between.

However, the singer broke protocol today by stopping by Hot 97 and dishing on virtually everything.

Hosts Ebro, Peter Rosenberg, and Lauren Stylez quizzed the star on a multitude of topics including sales of his new album ‘X’, Rihanna, Drake, Taylor Swift‘s chart dominance, his upcoming tour with Trey Songz and much more.

The stage blazer also playfully addressed the comparisons to Usher, who he gave props to…before teasing that he has the “fresher legs” of the two.

Since the onset of Beyonce‘s career, the diva has consistently touted how much of an influence legends Michael Jackson and Janet Jackson have been on her career.

As such, it was warming to see the ‘Drunk In Love’ singer pay homage to the latter this Halloween.

King B was spotted posing with a fan backstage at Power 1051.1’s Powerhouse event in New York last night. Her ensemble saluted Jackson’s renown ‘Rhythm Nation’ look.

Random sounding, perhaps, but we’d love to see a duet between ladies. With the right song and visual, it could be epic…right?

For, joining the established hits that are ‘Scandal’ and ‘Greys Anatomy’ is Shonda’s Rhimes’ new freshman series ‘How To Get Away With Murder’.

The legal drama, which stars Viola Davis, follows a group of ambitious law students and their brilliant criminal defence professor; the group become involved in a twisted murder plot that promises to change the course of their lives. 

It all makes for a riveting watch. We’re already hooked!

‘County Line‘ lyricist Coolio is unimpressed with Iggy Azalea.

Yes, despite dominating the ‘Billboard Hot 100’ with ‘Fancy‘ and dishing up the budding hit that is ‘Beg For It‘, Azalea‘s supposed lack of rap skills have made her the target of criticism aimed at her by the ‘Ghetto Cartoon’ artist.

Speaking to ‘Vlad TV’, Coolio revealed that while he believes white privilege saw the likes of Eminem and Yelawolf get their foot in industry’s front door, their undeniable lyrical ability is to thank for keeping them in the room.

The same, according to him, cannot be said for Ms. Azalea.

As the charts continue to suffer a shortage of competent male vocalists, T-Pain puts his best vocal foot forward for NPR’s All Songs Considered Tiny Desk concert series.

There, without the use of his longtime pal auto-tune, did Pain perform his hit singles ‘Buy You a Drank‘ and ‘Up Down‘, doing so in support of his greatest hits compilation album ‘T-Pain Presents Happy Hour‘, which touches down on November 4th.

Despite having clocked up three decades in the music business, Madonna‘s ability to shock and awe hasn’t diminished.

Material Madge is hard at work on her 13th studio album and it was today revealed that she’s added Nas to the unexpected mix of names she’s hit the studio with.

The iconic rapper shared the above shot of himself in the lab with the Pop queen (who posed licking his face) – yet steered clear of dishing of what the duo have been cooking up.

Beyond similar themed pics with the likes of Alicia Keys and the project’s primary producer Diplo, recording of the LP has largely been shroud in secrecy.

Its predecessor ‘MDNA’ may have been dire, but what we’re seeing and hearing of this project has us amped.
