Let the race to 2015 commence!

Today, it was revealed that Universal Pictures’ much-anticipated ‘Fast & Furious 7’ (which is being promoted as ‘Furious 7’) will arrive on April 3rd of next year.

Given the franchise’s immense popularity, buzz was already booming. Yet, following the untimely passing of actor Paul Walker (an integral part of ‘Fast’s past and present) movie-goers are naturally anticipating seeing the star’s final performance.

The official trailer for the film, which also stars Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Tyrese, Ludacris, and Michelle Rodriguez, arrives next week.

Next week, Tyra Banks‘ ‘America’s Next Top Model‘ will see its Cycle 21 contestants compete in the South Korean city of Seoul!

This week, before viewers follow them on their journey to the East, Banks is to release never before seen footage from the cycle on Friday 9/8c, set to air during the show’s usual time slot on ‘The CW.’

Fox dropped the trailer for their forthcoming TV series ‘Empire’ yesterday evening, teasing music lovers with Terrence Howard-led  show long before its 2015 release date.

What’s it all about? A charismatic drug dealer turned Hip Hop superstar who will stop at nothing to protect his empire and the legacy he hopes lives on through his competitive sons.

His problem? The gay son he is repulsed by, his seemingly unscrupulous ex-wife, and his dangerous daughter-in law Rhonda.

Does it have what it takes to compete with the likes of ‘Scandal‘ and the sizzling ‘How To Get Away With Murder’?

After learning hackers had gotten their hands on three jams from his latest album ‘Views from the 6′, Hip Hop titan Drake beat them to the chase and released them himself yesterday.

Doing so before he announces the album’s release date, his decision to “leak” the songs ‘6 God‘, ‘How About Now‘ and ‘Heat of the Moment‘ went a long way to reignite interest in the album, set to feature lyrics inspired his on/off relationship with ‘Diamonds’ singer Rihanna.

‘SNL’ continues to see its 40th season rock ratings with a slew of the year’s top musical acts…and tonight was no exception.  With funnyman Jim Carrey in tow as the host, the night’s episode brought with it the musical stylings of serial hitmaker Iggy Azalea.

In addition to wielding a medley of hits featuring #1 smash ‘Fancy’ and its top 5 follow-up ‘Black Widow’ (featuring Rita Ora), the Aussie diva also bounced into a live rendition of her newest single ‘Beg For It.’

The latest series of The X Factor UK continued in fine form tonight. With the Live Show segment of the season in full swing, the hopefuls are tasked on week 3 with pulling out all the stops to progress onto the next week. Judging the contestants are Simon Cowell, Cheryl Cole, Mel B, and  Louis Walsh.

After a rough start on her ’Elusive Chanteuse Show’ earlier this month, Mariah Carey is proving to be her own ‘Hero’.

For, during the Singapore stop on the trek yesterday, the diva delivered what many are hailing as her most sound performance of the signature hit in years.

Whatever ol’ Mimi has been sipping on (or perhaps not) is working wonders.

Having conquered the charts and expanded his empire in the process, Nelly is inviting the masses into his world via his new BET reality series – ‘Nellyville’.

Due to debut on November 25th at 10.30pm ET, the series will chronicle the rapper’s day-to-day life as he juggles his multiple hustles – namely music, family, fashion, and more.

And while an arguably out-of-the-box choice for such a series, it makes for interesting concept – at least from where we’re sitting.
