Say what you will about her sonic and visual eclecticism, but one thing you just can’t knock is Dawn Richard’s, aka D∆WN’s, hustle.

For, shortly after winning over new fans and critics with her most recent single ‘Honest,’ the former Danity Kane frontwoman brings a collection of heat courtesy of the Kingdom-produced ‘Infrared.’

A four track affair lifted from new label home Fade to Mind, the EP comes shortly before the kickoff of Dawn’s Stateside tour (which will be followed by spot dates across the pond in June).  But, before you catch the dazzling beauty on stage, check out the offerings from her latest digital effort below:

“Better late than never”…words we are certain Ms. Lauryn Hill abides by.

For, after infuriating Atlantan fans for showing up 2 hours late to her own concert (only to have it shut down very early), the diva took to Facebook to offer an apology to the concert attendees.

After enduring a weekend-long slamming by detractors expressing their disappointment on social media, Hill had apparently had enough and lent the lengthy statement seen below:

When not helping newcomers chase their destiny, Kelly Rowland has carved out quite the solo career of her own comprised of R&B bops.

Today we salute one of the star’s most underrated gems ‘Comeback’ in this week’s From The Vault.

Featured on the diva’s 2007 sophomore effort ‘Ms. Kelly’, Scott Storch and Pooh Bear produced the track with Rowland lending a helping hand with the lyrics.

Though lined-up to follow the album’s lead single ‘Like This’, it was scrapped and replaced by global smash ‘Work (Put It In).’
Still a visual was shot and quietly surfaced online.

Lensed by Philip Andelman, the visual didn’t quite capture the ferociousness of the song – but made a commendable attempt.

Oozing all sorts of swagu, Rowland showcased arresting sass and proved herself a magnetising performer. Our only gripe is the glaring lack of “proper” choreography, which for a dance jam like this is both criminal and a clear case of corner-cutting.
The obvious politics at play in Kelly’s career at the time continues to irk us til this day – especially lack of push for ‘Comeback.’ It fit like a glove into the mix of what was musically dominating at the time (ie: Justin Timberlake’s ‘My Love’) and presented her as the solo force she is. Again, irksome.

That said, with a new album on the way, we hope this child of Destiny continues to up the ante on the performance front. Because in today’s visual age, artists have become more empowered than ever to swing the pendulum in their favour by delivering captivating output that can’t be denied.

Ready when you are, Kelly.

‘Count Contessa’ rapper Azealia Banks has urged African-American and Hispanic voters to think twice before supporting Hillary Clinton‘s bid for the White House.

Taking to Periscope to share her ideas, the eloquent entertainer explained why she’d sooner vote for her Republican rival Donald Trump (despite loathing his immigration policies), and revealed why she believes his plans will rock a system built to oppress the working class.

It’s safe to say representation of the Middle Eastern community in the media is inaccurate at worst and scarce at best.

Fortunately, Bravo’s ‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta‘ now seems to be on course to fly the flag for diversity once again with the help of lawyer/ ‘Wife’ Phaedra Parks.

How?

The unconfirmed arrival of Maryam Aytac.

As chart royalty goes, few can rival Beyonce and Drake in 2016.

Music’s reigning King and Queen have garnered gargantuan sales with their respective albums – ‘VIEWS’ and ‘Lemonade.’

Interestingly, both have managed to do so with digital only releases. Bey opted for a TIDAL streaming launch, before serving up her LP on all digital retailers. Similarly, Drizzy teamed with Apple Music – making his effort available there exclusively for one week.

Now, with both LP’s being made available physically yesterday, will they receive a sales lift?

A Lauryn Hill fan has taken a direct approach to voicing his anger with the star following her late arrival to an Atlanta concert last night.

As reported, the Fugees star hit the stage more than two hours later than billed and the show was abruptly cut short – much to the displeasure of those in attendance (as well as those who’ve experienced similar at her shows).

No explanation was given and that was reason enough for said supporter to pop off like a firework when Hill attempted to shake hands with folk in the front row.
