Over the course of their illustrious career, TLC have been no stranger to controversy.

Last week saw the group’s surviving members T-Boz and Chilli engulfed in exactly that after an interview with an Australian news outlet seemingly saw them “take aim” at Rihanna.

In the segment that aired, the Grammy winning duo supposedly slam the Bajan star for her barely-there outfits.

Naturally, the model-with-a-mic charged back, which subsequently encouraged her fans to do the same.

The result? An onslaught of online abuse aimed at TLC by RiRi’s Navy.

Clearly exhausted by the foolery, T-Boz and Chilli sat down with Yahoo Down Under to clarify their comments – which they insist were cleverly edited and had nothing to with Rihanna at all.

The situation in their words after the jump…

Jermaine Dupri has had enough.

For months, the hitmaker has been the subject of a smear campaign by a sect of Mariah Carey fans disappointed in the  services he’s been providing for the singer since becoming her manager late last year.

Tensions appear to have come to a head in the wake of the dismal sales of Mimi’s new album ‘Me. I Am Mariah…The Elusive Chanteuse’ – which many see as an apt title given the LP’s vanishing act on the charts.

Fed up with the critique, JD – who has been instrumental in crafting many of Carey’s hits – penned an open letter.

See what he had to say below…

Mariah Carey‘s new album may be experiencing “elusive” sales, yet that hasn’t stopped the diva from garnering any face time.

Fresh from launching a new line of Go N’Syde beverages with Kevin Liles (Mimi has a flavor christened “Butterfly”), the songbird took to the streets of New York City yesterday – posing for an impromptu photoshoot.

Like most, we’re perplexed as to why Mimi seems to have halted promo for her ‘Me. I Am Mariah…The Elusive Chanteuse’ LP just one week after its release. Still as the age old adage goes, all publicity is good publicity…even if on the street side.

“Dahlings” peep more from the 44-year-old’s “festive” moment below…
