Yesterday saw shockwaves sent through the music and technology industries when news hit that media juggernaut Apple were on the cusp of completing the purchase of Beats Electronics from Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine.

The cost? A game-changing $3.2 billion.

According to multiple sources, the sale would see Apple not only acquire the renown Beats By Dre headphones line as part of the deal, but also the new and (fast) growing Beats Music streaming service.

Both company’s have stopped short of issuing press releases (just yet), however mega mogul Dre seemingly confirms the sale of the brand he founded in 2008 in a new celebratory video.

Surrounded by friends, including singer/actor Tyrese, the rapper toasts to his beginnings and status as Hip-Hop’s first-ever billionaire.

Good music alert!

Recorded in 1998 and leaking in 2010, Michael Jackson‘s ‘Blue Gangsta‘ now nabs an official release, pulled from his latest posthumous release ‘Xscape’, due out on May 13th.

Featuring a string arrangement put together by Timbaland, the fiery cut swings by after his ‘Love Never Felt So Good’ impacted the ‘Hot 100’ with 80,000 units sold, peaking #20 this week.

As Usher wraps up another season of The Voice, the show on which he helps hopefuls achieve their dreams, the hitmaker has hit the promo trail in support of his own.

With the crooner’s latest single ‘Good Kisser’ climbing up the charts, the Grammy winner stopped by Revolt TV to plug the cut and its parent album.

During the interview, the 35-year-old revealed that he has teamed up with ‘Loyal’ comrade (and label-mate) Chris Brown for a song on the as yet untitled project. He also shared his thoughts on the posthumous Michael Jackson album ‘Xscape’, which he recently helped promote at the iHeartRadio Awards.

Cleopatra VII Philopator finds herself honoured once again this week, channeled by ‘Roar’ beauty Katy Perry during the opening night of her ‘Prismatic World Tour.’

Kicking off in Northern Ireland‘s Odyssey Arena, the show brought with it a killer performance of her US #1 single ‘Dark Horse.’

Unfortunately, Perry herself stood as the least interesting aspect of the performance, outperformed by her dancers sporting outfits designed by  Fausto Puglisi.
