November 22 marked one of the biggest nights in music as the American Music Awards (AMAs) aired live on ABC. Hosted by Taraji P. Henson, the highly anticipated annual showing boasted performances by the likes of some of music’s biggest names including BTS, Megan Thee Stallion, Billie Eilish, Justin Bieber, and more.

Among the night’s most talked about, however, was the high octane showing from Jennifer Lopez.  An AMA darling and regular performer, Lady Lopez rocked the house with an energetic showing of her latest Maluma-assisted cuts, ‘Lonely’ and ‘Pa Ti.’

And while her faithful fanbase, affectionately called #JLovers, rendered virtual standing O’s in response, another fanbase isn’t exactly echoing the sentiment.

In 2018, Taylor Swift surpassed the legendary Whitney Houston to become the American Music Awards’ (AMAs) most-awarded female act in history.

Just a year later, she upped her AMAs collection to 29 – skating past King of Pop Michael Jackson in the process to become the show’s most awarded act ever.

Entering the 2020 ceremony, Swift stood to extend that record as she was nominated for four awards: Artist of the Year, Favorite Album (Pop/Rock), Favorite Female Artist (Pop/Rock), and Favorite Music Video.

Look below to see just how many she walked away with.

Since 2015, Nicki Minaj has ruled as the Rap Queen of the American Music Awards courtesy of her career collection of 6 of the event’s prism-shaped trophies.

Going into the show’s 48th annual ceremony (which aired live on November 22), the 37-year-old stood to either extend that reign as she was nominated in two categories or be unseated by longtime nemesis/4x AMA winner Cardi B as the ‘I Like It’ hitmaker entered the show with 3 nominations.

Much to the dismay of B’s legion of dedicated fans, affectionately called #BardiGang, not only did she end the night with only one of the 3 trophies she was nominated for but her run in second place remained intact.

Katy Perry may have delivered the 2020 anthem we didn’t know we needed courtesy of the revamped edition of her latest release, ‘Resilient.’

With its original incarnation found aboard her latest studio album, ‘Smile’ (click here to stream), November 13 brought with it the remix of ‘Resilient’ rendered by Dutch DJ and record producer Tiësto alongside Spanish Pop star Aitana (as we reported here).

To further drive its uplifting message home, Perry – as part of Coke’s new “Open to Better” campaign – joined forces with director Chloe Wallace to unveil the tune’s official music video

Speaking on the inspiring cut, Perry stated:

“I loved the unity perspective Aitana brought to the song, and how it evolves the message into the importance of being resilient as a group. It’s not always just about personal growth, we need to grow together too!”

Spilling details of the Coke campaign, Katy revealed:

“To me, this campaign is about growing through challenges. I think the song ‘Resilient’ ties so well into that because being resilient is getting back up after you fall, growing from failure, and getting through that challenge.”
