Offset has made no secret of his admiration for Michael Jackson over the years, even appearing at a number of industry events in getup inspired by the King of Pop.

Taking that a step further, the rapper (born Kiari Cephus) recently unveiled the cover art to ‘Set It Off‘ – his next solo album due on digital shelve October 13 – and even dons MJ-referencing threads on it.

Shortly after making the LP announcement, Cephus tributed Jackson again with the music video for the new song ‘Fan.’

“Now I’m over it, thank God I’m over it / Tired of stressing about what I can’t control,” he raps. “I think I’m better on my own / I kicked all the fuck niggas out my circle / I don’t know how this shit feel, they really hurt you.”

Drawing scenes from Michael’s iconic 1983 music video, ‘Thriller,’ ‘Fan’ comes as the follow-up to the Cardi B-assisted ‘Jealousy.’  Hear it inside.

Rapper Abra Cadabra is renowned for his magic Midas touch musically. Now, he’s flexing his creative muscles the more by making his acting debut in ‘Trapping.’

Directed by Penny Woolcock (who helmed ‘Ackley Bridge’), the hard-hitting flick lassos the masses into an underground world. One where youngsters are drawn on by gangs to do their dirty work – such as carrying and selling drugs, leaving their homes, schools, and lives at large behind in favor of staying at “trap houses.”

The ‘Trapping’ narrative centers on Londoner Daz (Louis Ede), whose increasingly deeper dive into the murkiness of gang life (amplified by the antics of Abra Cadabra’s character, Magic) sees him relocate to Kent – where further chaos ensues.

Currently available on The Drop streaming service (which was launched by Femi Oyeniran and Nicky ‘Slimting’ Walker), the film has been supported by a variety of impressive activations.

That Grape Juice was in the house at the star-studded premiere in Central London, while there was also a resonating discussion at the House of Parliament – which saw the themes of the film explored.

Check out a recap below, where the soundtrack also awaits:

Continuing this week’s VMAs celebration, the latest edition of From The Vault spotlights a memorable performance from the show’s rich archive. Today, we present Ariana Grande, Nicki Minaj, and Jessie J‘s blazing show-opening performance at the VMAs 2024.

MTV fired from all cylinders with the kick-off of its 31st annual Video Music Awards ceremony, commencing the festivities with three of that year’s biggest hitmakers.

Ms. Grande graced the stage first with a futuristic rendition of her EDM hit, ‘Break Free,’ once again showcasing her remarkable vocal talent. Next up was the evening’s hostess with the mostest, Nicki Minaj, delivering a stunning sting with ‘Anaconda’ in a manner that left nothing to be desired: charisma, flow, and boundless energy.

The duo then united with Jessie J to perform their global sensation, ‘Bang Bang,’ and not even a wardrobe malfunction could deter them from stealing the show from the get-go.

What an exciting time! While female collaborations are now the standard in a post-‘WAP’ world, this was far from the case in the mid-2010s. This song alone felt like a monumental event, but this performance, along with several subsequent reunions from the ladies, elevated it to even greater heights. Almost a decade has passed, and it remains as thrilling as ever. Kudos ladies!
