Well, that was fast.

As reported here, Grammy winning diva Beyonce was rumored to be hard at work bringing the controversial story of Sarah Baartman, an enslaved South African woman put on display at freakshows in the 1800s, to life in a film.  The rumored project, which would be Bey’s screenwriting debut, would also see her star as the historical figure.

The report was greeted with great backlash from South African dignitaries with one even claiming the songstress was ‘not worthy’ and ‘lacked the basic human dignity’ to play the part!  Ouch!

Well, it looks like the singer’s camp has had enough.  Tuck in below to read her rep’s weigh in on the hoopla around the rumors:

Week 6 of Adele‘s domination of the Billboard 200 may have logged its lowest figures yet, but they were still enough to land her another week at the summit of the tally.

Dropping over 70% from last week’s mega holiday sales, ’25’ (363,000) still managed to shift over 140,000 more units than its nearest competitor – Justin Bieber‘s comeback opus ‘Purpose’ (217,000)  The twosome, who jointly dominated both the album and singles charts for most of 2015’s latter half, won’t see their dominion slow too soon if the performance of other “hot” albums is any indication.

Chris Brown‘s ‘Royalty,’ which still reigns proudly over the R&B album charts for a second week, also saw over 70% drop in sales (55,000 this week, 184,000 last week).  Dropping to #8 on this week’s Billboard 200, the album is one of 4 Urban releases found in the top 10.

Why? A 14-year-old girl claims the entertainer has been pursuing her relentlessly and has stepped forward to expose the rapper’s alleged obsession with underage girls.

Going all out, in normal Gaga fashion, “The Countess” rendered a whopping 16 covers for the V99 Spring preview, including shots from Karl Lagerfeld, Steven Klein, and so many more.

“She lacks the basic human dignity to be worthy of writing Sarah’s story, let alone playing the part…- Chief Jean Burgess

The quote above came as quite the sting to the Queen Bey after reports surfaced the singer/songwriter would be making her screenwriting debut with a film about the life of Saartjie (Sarah) Baartman, a South African woman who was put on display at British freakshows in the 1800s because of her large buttocks.

The Grammy winner, who is allegedly set to reignite her acting career with a remake of the 1976 Barbara Streisand classic ‘A Star Is Born,’ also recently made headlines for reportedly planning to write and star in a film about Baartman.  Though met with mixed review, the news found the least favor from Chief Jean Burgess of the First Indigenous Peoples of South Africa.

Ciara is currently the top trending topic on social media following Future‘s scathing Twitte attack on her.

The ‘Dirty Sprite’ rapper alleges the Grammy winning songstress is preventing him from seeing their 20-month old son Future Zahir.

Naturally, the episode is causing debate aplenty, which makes the latest update oh so timely.

Ciara is remaining mum herself, but a “highly placed source” has elaborated on the matter.
