Since giving birth to baby Axl back in August, Fergie has maintained a low profile of sorts.

Musically, though, the Pop star has been quiet for far longer. Indeed, the last official material the mother released was 2010’s ‘The Beginning’ as part of the Black Eyed Peas.

Yet, as reported last year, the 38-year-old once again has the musical itch – and is readying her second solo album.

During a visit to Ryan Seacrest‘s radio show today, Fergie Ferg updates fans on the status of the project and detailed her approach to making the LP, which serves as the follow-up to 2006’s mutli-Platinum smash ‘The Dutchess’.

Find out what she had to say after the jump…

Like the world it exists in, the music industry has shrunk.

Indeed, thanks to the onset of the internet, stars are able to broaden their reach in markets beyond their own. No longer are acts confined to the locality of where they’re signed; they now have a global audience.

What’s more, with buyer spend at an all-time low, acts are almost compelled to cultivate a worldy presence so as to survive in the era of 360 deals, which see record labels recoup spend via international touring, merchandise, and brand partnerships.

It’s surprising, then, that one of Britain’s supposed top Pop stars, Cheryl Cole, has gone on record express that she has no interest being known in music’s biggest market, one she pulls so heavily pulls from. She doesn’t want to be known in the US.

Things you don’t do. Or, at least, shouldn’t.

As one of Pop’s most pronounced polarizers, Lady GaGa should be used to the mass love and critique of her work.

However, the singer’s frustration with the latter is clearly grating at her, as evidenced by her latest set of tweets on Twitter.

For, despite new album ‘ARTPOP’ rocketing to the top of numerous charts across the globe this week (including tallies in the US and UK), the 27-year-old appears none-too-impressed with the onslaught of “hate” levied her way.

With a groundbreaking world tour on her hands, and year’s worth of planning to ensure its campaign runs smoothly, Beyonce now readies the release of her fifth studio album far sooner than most of the world is even aware of.

Since its genesis, the fashion that has filled Lady Gaga‘s ‘ARTPOP’ era has caused quite the stir – even for her.

From motherboards to prosthetic arms, Gaga has left few stones unturned in her effort to bridge the gap between music and pop art.  And, while the looks are still the subject of much banter, the songstress unveils a runway-inspired look behind the scenes of some of the now famed photoshoots that have accompanied the album.

Rihanna frightened many-a-viewer (for unintended reasons) with her latest video ‘What Now’, but she may not be done with her antics yet.  Now re-teaming with her ‘Love The Way You Lie’ co-star Eminem, the duo shared the snap above on Instagram today from the set of their ‘The Monster’ video.

The song, which has already skyrocketed to the top of charts and sitting pretty at #2 this week, is featured on Em’s latest album ‘Marshall Mathers LP 2’. Celebrating a monster debut itself after blasting straight to the top of charts with over 775k sold its first week, the album pushed just enough numbers this week to mark platinum status.

As we await what is sure to be a chatter-worthy visual from Em and Ri, those unfamiliar with the song can take a listen below:
