Stormzy is blazing quite the trail and doing so on a global scale.
On home soil, the Brit rapper scored the chart double last week – topping the singles and album tally with ‘Own It’ and ‘Heavy Is The Head’ respectively.
Now, as he gears up for a world tour that includes the US, he hit the States early to work the promo trail.
Said stops included his televised debut on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon (where he performed ‘Crown’) and Hot 97 – where he chopped it up with Ebro, Peter Rosenberg, and Laura Stylez.
During his appearance at the latter, he waxed candid about his feud with Grime MC Wiley, racism in the UK, Meghan Markle, his relationship with ex Maya Jama, and a whole lot more.
In celebration of Mary J. Blige’s 49th birthday, this week’s From The Vault salutes the singer’s 1997 hit ‘Everything.’
Issued as the third single from the Queen of Hip-Hop/Soul’s ‘Share My World’ LP, the track was helmed by Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis.
It notably samples ‘You Are Everything’ by The Stylistics and ‘The Payback’ by James Brown. But no doubt stands out on its own accord.
The song was a success in the US where it peaked at #24 on the Hot 100 and #5 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Charts. In the UK, it reached the 6th position on the tally and was a Top 20 hit in New-Zealand.
Hype Williams – who helmed some of the best videos that decade – directed the ‘Everything’ video. Set on an island, the clip features Mary in West-African fashion singing the song in slow motion.

With a videography as commendable as Mary’s, ‘Everything ‘ serves as one of her most visually magnetic offerings alongside ‘Family Affair’ and ‘Be Without You.’
During a recent awards acceptance speech, Blige said of herself:
“I am a leader, a queen, a living legend”
Those words from MJB about MJB couldn’t be any more true.
Through the decades – and contrary to many of her peers – she has remained an undisputed music royal. She has never needed to revert to shock tactics or baseless beefs with fellow artists to keep her name and legacy lit.
Showing no sign of slowing down anytime soon, it seems Mary will continue to wow us with her titan sized talent – which, these days, she’s spreading across music, acting, and producing.
Dua Lipa is strutting the promotional pavement in support of new single ‘Don’t Start Now.’
Having already peaked at #2 in the UK, the two-time GRAMMY winner is turning her attention to the US – where the track has thus far hit #30.

Backed by a full band, she rocked out to the funkified cut – which serves as the lead single from her hotly anticipated sophomore album ‘Future Nostalgia’ (due 2020).
Camila Cabello is leaving no stone unturned in the push for new album ‘Romance.’
After mounting quite the offensive with a number ofbundles and subsequent discounts, the singer took to the stage at ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’ to convince the public to part with their coins.
Joined by DaBaby, the former Fifth Harmony firecracker turned the heat up with a scorching performance of ‘My Oh My’ – a song which, far and away, has proven most popular from the LP since its release.
Camila Cabello fans, affectionately called #Camilizers, were undoubtedly excited and worried when the 22-year-old dropped her sophomore album, ‘Romance,’ last week (December 6).
The set – despite the singer’s onslaught of television, Web, and print promo in the months leading to its release – failed to garner a top 40 hit to precede it. Beyond the monster success of her Shawn Mendes-duet ‘Senorita,’ which is included on the tracklist of ‘Romance’ but was originally featured on the deluxe edition of his self-titled third album, Cabello’s LP was believed by many to be released on the back of little buzz.
Peruse of iTunes charts around the globe, however, has seemingly canceled that presumption.
As of time reported, the effort has manged to hit #1 on the real-time sales tallies of the United States, United Kingdom, Brazil, Mexico, Spain, and over 45 other countries. To add, it also sits at #1 on iTunes and Apple Music’s ‘Worldwide Album Sales’ charts.
Apparently an out-of-the-box success (even though industry analysts have yet to reveal their official predictions), Cabello is not resting on her laurels – a feat evidenced by her visit to ‘Ellen’ the day of the project’s release.
