Summer Walker is over the slander.
The rising star has fallen foul of public favor of late, following lackadaisical performances (which she’s blamed on social anxiety) and most recently due to hitting the stage three hours late in Toronto. As reported, fans were outraged – with some even suffering from frostbite after waiting in the cold.
Now, after receiving receiving quite the lashing online, she’s hitting back.

Taking to Instagram Live, the ‘Come Thru’ singer claimed she is being bullied and that the mass critique is “getting disrespectful.”
She went on to detail a litany of issues that were responsible for the Toronto fiasco – all of which, she says, were out of her hands. Check out the video:
For us, the primary issue is communication.
Because, in as much as some of the dramas weren’t her fault, it’s kinda wild to hit out at people for being jarred at having to wait three hours in the cold with no explanation.
Ultimately, whichever way it’s diced or sliced, her name is on the top of the bill – which, for all the perks that’s packaged with, also means she’s subject to whatever critique comes along with it.
To minimize the latter, she and her team would be well advised to get in-front of such situations before they catch fire. Instead, she’s being reactive instead of proactive, while also being somewhat unsympathetic to the the very folk who’ve put her where she is.
Online bullying is a no-no, but so too is the nonchalance that has seemed to define much of Summer’s narrative post the release of her project.

I disagree with that! Everyone in ‘the real world’ is not a subordinate! I stroll into work whenever I want because i am a boss. Summer is a new artist bit still a boss. When she does performance gigs she is not reporting to anyone and if she is late she is late and the ticket holders will deal. If this was an awards ceremony performance then yes she has to be on time but for a concert no she is her own boss and people that buy tickets have to get the message through their thick heads to stop buying tickets to see her!

Well…I believe her. But I think it’s a learning lesson for her. Know when YOU’RE supposed to be working. This is YOUR show. YOU’RE the only one who’s going to be blamed. So you should be more apologetic RIGHT NOW, than combative. She missed the mark on this point.
Summer, girl, YOU’RE getting disrespectful to your fans! How the hell are you planning to make money if you aren’t touring or making another album? Sigh. Just a mess. Mental illness is no joke, and anxiety is real, but she and her team should have NEVER released this album if she was dealing with al of this.
“Social Anxiety” and whatever else Summer diagnosed herself with doesn’t give reason for unprofessionalism. It’s highly unacceptable. She’s a newbie in the game and needs to move as such. I don’t see any hustle or hunger with her. There are 50000 other girls who sound exactly like her on YouTube & Soundcloud sitting around waiting for their chance to shine. If she keeps fumbling opportunities, she’ll be quickly replaced with one of them. Her music isn’t that great for her to be acting like this.
How do you become a music artist in this day and age and don’t understand that the reason you exist and are signed to a major is because the label bank rolled you on the assumption you will be successful and create fans who consume your music???? This girl is DELUSIONAL talkin’ about it’s getting disrespectful SMH. Being an artist immediately put you in a position to have your every move criticised and this work NEVER change. Here’s my thing with this…. cool explain yourself, but HOW IN THE FUCQ do you not know when your own show starts. You mean to tell me you have control to fire ppl but go on stage “when they tell you to”. Its HER tour. How in the FUCQ did u not know it was raining and cold or that your fans where outside. Her name is written all over this tour. She should know every single detail and inner working piece. What time it starts, how many ppl are in attendance, which dancer farted on stage.. EVERYTHING. So that excuse does more harm than good.
No-talents like this girl with a thousand excuses for their lack of a work ethic is the reason why the music industry is in the toilet with no signs of ever getting better.
Well this is what happens with someone of sub par talent no concept of stardom and what it entails including hard work, live performances etc… these artists are only good in the recording studio with auto tune.

No where in her ‘message’ did she even attempt to take responsibility. Blaming the team and everyone else….just not long ago you were cleaning toilets. Be humble, be grateful, and appreciate the successes you have. Also, you owe an apology to your fans.
Alright, I think it’s time to acknowledge something. Not all jobs are for everyone. If you have “social anxiety” or any other disorder that makes having to be/ perform around many people, then BEING A TOURING SINGER IS NOT FOR YOU. Summer Walker needs to write songs for other artists and sing at church and coffee shops. Fame ain’t her game.

None of her ramble explains why it took her 3 hours to grace the stage. Lauren Hill and Madonna are icons and they get roasted for coming on stage late. Summer barely even started and she thinks she deserves dispensation for being late. I get that being a musician is her chosen career but whether people consume music or not is a choice for them. Just because she makes music doesnt mean its gonna be successful. Heck people go their whole career without ever winning an award.
At her level and popularity, she should just be grateful that enough people buy tickets to make a show viable.
