Despite a decade long-tenure on the urban pop amassing a collection of hits, it proved that the 5th time was the charm for ‘Bottom’s Up’ beau Trey Songz‘ attempts for the top spot.

Indeed, ‘Chapter V’ (the singer’s latest effort) was his first to see his name written atop Billboard’s 200.  And, with an accompanying U.K. top 10 showing to match, Songz’ brings his promo efforts to this side of the pond to keep the project afloat.

In a recent interview with our friends at DigitalSpy, the opinionated maestro not only gave fans info on what to expect from the project, but also gave his 2 cents on Nicki Minaj‘s rumored ‘Idol’ gig and (once again) reminded us of how much he is eyeing a duet with global superstar Beyonce.

Last year saw Cheryl Cole at the centre of one showbiz’s biggest stories. Indeed, after ample hype, the singer signed up to judge on the season premiere of The X Factor USA only to be unceremoniously dumped one episode in.
