After Billboard thrilled fans of Latto, Kim Petras, Lana Del Rey, and others with news the divas will be among the honorees at the 2023 Billboard Women in Music Awards (as we reported here), the organization has now sent supporters of SZA into a similar frenzy with the announcement she’ll be taking home the show’s top honor: Woman of the Year.

While many artists were overcome with joy upon the unveiling of the nominations for the 2023 GRAMMY Awards, singer Summer Walker was not one of them.

For, as reported, the R&B star was one of the notable names omitted from the tally.

This, despite delivering one of the genre’s highest-selling debuts with her official sophomore album ‘Still Over It’ within the nomination eligibility window.

Now, joining the chorus of those weighing in, Walker has shared her thoughts on the snub.

The music industry and its enthusiasts are still buzzing as Tuesday (November 15) brought with it the highly anticipated unveiling of the 2023 GRAMMY nominations.

Ahead of honoring the year’s best and brightest in the music realm on February 5, 2023, the coveted tally expectedly listed the likes of chart-toppers Beyonce, Adele, Harry Styles, Bad Bunnyand Lizzo as competitors for the ceremony’s top honors.

While jaws dropped to see some of the categories they were mentioned in and omitted from, fan groups of other major hitmakers are steam-pressed their favorites were placed in unexpected categories or totally shut out.

Vanessa Hudgens and Tayshia Adams were the hosts of the 2022 MTV Movie & TV Awards which aired Sunday night (June 5) as part of a three-hour telecast.

Celebrating movie and TV lovers’ favorite shows, films, and stars from the last year, this year’s ceremony saw ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ and ‘Euphoria’ enter as the most nominated movie and TV show respectively (7 nods each) while fan favorites like ‘The Batman’ and ‘Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings’ were among the few to nab at least 3 nods apiece.

As if swinging to the top of global box offices to historic measure wasn’t enough, ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ has swung to the top of the nominee list for the 2022 MTV Movie & TV Awards.

Wrapping 7 nods in its web, the Tom Holland-led Marvel blockbuster will enter the June 5-airing ceremony as the movie with the most chances to win followed by the six nods afforded to HBO’s ‘Euphoria’ (the most-nominated TV series) and the four nominations listed beside Warner Bros.’ hit flick ‘The Batman.’

Alongside the MTV Movie & TV Awards will be the Movie & TV Awards: Unscripted — a twist on the show that’s set to recognize reality TV, talk shows, and documentaries.

As such, we’ve been celebrating Women’s History Month for the length and breadth of March.

And not just the female titans behind some of the world’s most successful songs, but women more broadly.

For, they are truly the backbone of society. From mothers and sisters to aunts and grandmothers, they are the ones who anchor so many of us.

The credits are done rolling at the 94th Annual Academy Awards, known more commonly as the 2022 Oscars.  Hailing from the Los Angeles Dolby Theatre, the night saw the year’s most notable movie releases honored for their multi-layered contributions to the world of film.

Like any memorable ceremony, it was the unscripted moments that made for the most resonating – namely those inspiring acceptance speeches.

The nominations for the 2022 Golden Globe Awards have been announced – and it’s good news for the likes of Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Will Smith, Jennifer Hudson, Issa Rae, and Aunjanue Ellis.

As some of Hollywood’s most notable names, they have racked up noms for their efforts in titles including ‘House of Gucci,’ ‘King Richard,’ Respect’, ‘Pose’ and ‘Insecure.’ 

The announcement comes at a unique time for The Globes, which won’t be airing its annual ceremony on NBC amidst drama surrounding the diversity of the HPFA.

President Helen Hoehne deemed 2021 “a year of change and reflection” for the Globes and added:

“For the past eight months we have worked tirelessly as an organization to be better We also have 21 new members. The largest and most diverse in our 79-year-old history. Not only have they brought in a fresh perspective but ideas that will help us continue to evolve.”
