Ciara Preps 'Fantasy Ride' R&B star Ciara invited MTV to Hotlanta’s Silent Studio to preview her third studio LP, which has a working title of ‘Fantasy Ride’. The album will be presented by lead single ‘High Price’ – featuring rapper Ludaris. Word has it that the song has a Crunk vibe.
While I’m looking forward to Ciara’s new record, I’m kinda hopeful she keeps the Crunk to a minimum. Yes, I know it’s the sound she’s recognised for, but I think she may be better off channeling her efforts into something else. While her last album spawned stellar slow jams such as ‘Promise’ and ‘So Hard’, it’s Crunk offering were terrible IMO – i.e the tuneless, hook-less ‘That’s Right’. Anyway, Ciara has gone on record to confirm that a summer release has been penciled in for the record; so, I’m assuming we should be hearing something very soon.

Any thoughts?
Day26 - 'Don't Fight This Feeling'As the current season of Making The Band draws nearer to its end and the release of the groups’ albums ever-closer, more material from the guys of Day26’s has surfaced. Bryan Michael Cox, who seems to have several cuts on the group’s album, produced this new track called ‘Don’t Fight This Feeling’. With its throwback 90’s vibe, this slow jam is straight-up R&B in the vein of the 112’s and Jagged Edge’s before them (Day26). Saying that, parts of the track echo Ciara’s ‘Promise’ as well. Definitely a solid album track, that has me anxious to see what the rest of their debut will be serving up.

Ciara & Janet To Shoot 'Feedback' (Remix) Video? Word has it that Pop superstar Janet Jackson will be joining forces with Ciara for the video for the ‘Feedback’ remix. Said to be set for shooting next week, the news comes amid ‘Feedback’s’ resurgence on the Billboard Hot 100 chart; The song jumped a whopping 35 places this week from #54-#19. Def Jam are also re-sending the track out to radio outlets.
For some reason, unbeknown to me, a lot of Janet and Ciara fans seem to dislike one another and won’t be checking for this. I know, as for me, I’m definitely looking forward to what the ladies will be serving up, should this prove legit. Known for their position as ‘entertainers’ as opposed to (for) their vocal prowess, combining the two would be big.

Ciara premiered the video for her new single ‘That’s Right’ today as a special Christmas gift to her fans. Can’t say I’m a fan of the song, but the video turned out pretty good. Monica makes a cameo in the vid too.

Fresh off Tweet’s appearance on VH1’s Hip Honors event this past week, the singer’s new single has surfaced. ‘My Dear’ is the lead track from Tweet’s third album entitled ‘Love, Tweet’. The track was originally recorded by Ciara, but never released. I kinda have mixed feelings about this one; on the one hand, Tweet’s vocals (and it’s arrangement) flow effortlessly over the mid-tempo production – making for a pretty good track. However, T.I. verse serves no purpose and it feels as if he’s on the song just to sell it. What’s more, I can’t help but feel a little cheated that instead of hitting us with something really new, we get a Ciara re-hash. Still, it’s enough for me simply because this rare talent is back. Here’s hoping the album lives up to the standard of it’s predecessors.

The much anticipated video for Ciara and 50 Cent’s new single ‘Can’t Leave ‘Em Alone’ premiered today. Considering the pre-hype, I found the end-product to be kinda anti-climatic. There was little to no chemistry between Ciara and 50 -with the video looking pretty standard; especially when compared to the videos for Ciara’s two last singles. Nonetheless, both the song and video have a laid-back summer vibe to it and definitely fits this time of year.

What do you think of the video?

This new track,’Gliding’, is slated to be the official first single from former TLC member Chilli’s upcoming album. While, the song is better than any of the other solo material I’ve heard from Chilli , it’s still not up-to-par. The production is mediocre at best, sounding like a recycled beat from Ciara’s first album. We all know that Chilli doesn’t have the strongest voice, but she shouldn’t be talking her way through the song like she’s doing on this. I know she is talented, but if she keeps putting out disposable tracks like this then she should throw in the towel and call it a day.
