Amidst building a career of blessing fan favorites Rihanna, Beyonce, and more with a bevy of club bangers, Hip Hop hitmaker The Dream looks to ring 2012 in with a bang of his own.   Using his summer 2011, digital only release ‘1977’ to tide fans over between his third and fourth studio albums, it seems the Atlanta native  is ready to serve his fourth round’s appetizer with ‘Roc’ – the lead single from his fourth album ‘The Love, IV: Diary of a Madman’.

Reportedly boasting some of his ‘most personal material to date’, is ‘Roc’ what the rapper/singer needs to roll him back to the top of the charts?  You be the judge after the jump:

Amidst speculation of a split, ‘And I Am Telling You’ belter Jennifer Hudson has seen her name atop many-a-headline for recently (re)confirming wedding plans to professional wrestler David Otunga.  Besides confirming that the wedding is indeed still on, Hudson hasn’t been telling much else.  But, while keeping mum on that topic, there’s info on one subject, as evidenced by February 2012’s ‘Good Housekeeping’, no one can keep the singer from humming about – her weight loss.

As the promo continues for her forthcoming memoir release ‘I Got This’ (January 10), fans get to catch JHud afront ‘Good Housekeeping’ magazine where she dishes on her weight loss, details on her latest happenings, and new book.  Check after the jump for a few excerpts:

‘Don’t Wanna Go Home‘ will certainly be the last thing Floridian hitmaker Jason Derulo will be singing after this recent accident left him injured.  Taking to Twitter moments ago to lend the announcement, the chart-topper has set the net abuzz with the revelation of a neck injury incurred during rehearsal for his upcoming tour:

Always good to see the young crooner is in good spirits.  With his aptly titled ‘Future History’ becoming just that a short time after its release, Derulo’s forthcoming trek would certainly bid well in extending its short shelf life.

In related news, the Miami dance machine was one of many ringing in the New Year on MTV’s NYE in NYC 2012 special.  As MTV has finally made the performances available for view, see Mr. Derulo dropping it like its hot before the ball dropped after the jump:

‘Rolling In the Deep’ diva Adele’s ’21’ album is still rolling over competition on both album and single charts despite debuting almost a year ago.   Already crowned 2011’s best selling album and spending 43 of its 44 week shelf-life in Billboard’s top 5, the songstress moved back to #1 after moving an additional 144k albums this week.  Such feat ties her with fellow female powerhouse vocalist Whitney Houston’s 1986 self-titled debut for a 14 week run atop Billboard’s album charts.  The only other female (or female led) albums to know such reign would be ‘The Bodyguard’ soundtrack (20 weeks from 1992-1993) and Carole King‘s ‘Tapestry’ (15 weeks in 1971).

On the singles front, the British beauty is commanding the lower half of the chart’s top 10 with ‘Someone Like You’ and ‘Set Fire To the Rain’ at no.8 and no.9 respectively.  At the chart’s higher end, ‘Party Rock Anthem‘ duo extend their top 10 reign at #1  and #6 respectively with their party favorites ‘Sexy and I Know It’ and ‘Party Rock’.  Filling out the top five, gal pals Rihanna and Katy Perry can be found at #2 and #3 respectively with ‘We Found Love’ and “The One That Got Away”.

Finally, while the ladies have run this motha- for quite sometime, the men are finally getting in on some of the action.  Bruno Mars makes a splash with ‘It Will Rain’ at #4, Flo Rida makes good at #5 with ‘Good Feeling’, and Jay Z/Kanye settle at #7 with ‘Ni**as In Paris’.

It goes without saying, that Chris Brown‘s comeback campaign hasn’t been as “instant” some may have anticipated. Indeed, it’s been a slow, steady, yet rewarding re-ascend for the 22 year old – following ‘the incident’ back in 2009.

Discussing “operation restoration”, Brown’s manager sat down with Billboard for an insightful interview, detailing how the singer will be handled moving forward.
