As reported yesterday, Miami dance machine Jason Derulo unveiled news of a neck injury recently sustained during rehearsals for a recent world tour.  Despite assuring fans just last night of his well-being and intent to soon resume rehearsals for the tour (set to begin mid-February), today saw the crooner singing a different song.

Originally set to tour the U.K. from February through March and follow-up with an April Australian tour, the 22-year-old confirmed via statement today that all plans of touring have been cancelled.  The announcement follows word that while no longer hospitalized from the accident (that could have left him paralyzed), the ‘Don’t Want To Go Home’ hitmaker will be confined to a neck brace for an undisclosed number of months.

Derulo offered these words (source):

“To all my fans who planned to come to the Future History World tour, the pain of letting you down cuts me way deeper than this injury I’ve sustained. My fans mean everything to me, so I’m praying for a speedy recovery in order to perform for you in the near future.”

“Stop singing my part now, baby!”

Classic! R&B songbird Mariah Carey had either seen one too many butterflies or she was clearly trying to cover up a poo-poo mess by putting a backup singer on blast for her own ‘vocal malfunction’.

This 2008 performance on Good Morning America saw the Grammy-winner hot on the promo trail for ‘E=MC 2’, the follow-up to her 2005 critically/commercially acclaimed comeback album ‘The Emancipation of Mimi’.  Lending a live performance of her then (and last) #1 smash ‘Touch My Body’, the song may have led her ‘E=MC2’ album to #1 on the album charts, but another formula was about to lead Miss Carey to shame…backing track + malfunction = red face.

For, as the song’s seemingly simple arrangement grew more difficult for the once-soaring songbird to deliver, Mimi wasn’t looking too emancipated as she stiffly struggled through the set – relying heavily on the backing track.  And then, as Milli Vanilli would have it, the playback on the backingtrack went wicky wack.  We’re sure Ashley Simpson was to blame.  Unlike Vanilli or Simpson, however, Mimi has proven time after time she’s got the chops.  Just a little mixup we suppose.

Maybe she should take a leaf from fellow diva Beyonce‘s book…’Sound!…somebody’s getting fired!’

As previously reported, former Dirty Money & Danity Kane captain Dawn Richard has earned fan favor with her Brandy-esque track ‘Save Me From U (SMFU)’.  The dramatic, black-and-white clip is the first unveiled from the songstress’s forthcoming ‘GoldenHeart’.  Despite first making rounds on the net over two months ago, last week’s trailer tease certainly amped anticipation for this Ev Salomon-directed clip, now available for viewing in its entirety.

Does the ‘GoldenHeart’ hitmaker strike gold?  You decide after the jump:
