Pop trier Shontelle continues to show that she sweats perseverance. Indeed, though the Bajan singer-songwriter has struggled to replicate the success of earlier hits ‘T-Shirt’ and ‘Impossible’, she stays releasing material; the latest of which being Dance Pop cut ‘Ten to One’.

Not to be mislabeled a single of any sort, Rihanna‘s former schoolmate and collaborator instead is releasing the track to her fans as a Holiday gift.

Last week saw Pop Royal Rihanna and Neo-Soul upstart Rebecca Ferguson take to the X Factor UK stage to perform their respective singles, ‘We Found Love‘ and ‘Nothing’s Real But Love‘ and to say the performances were polar opposites would be an understatement.

For, while one allowed her voice and the music to do the talking the other opted for pre-recorded vocals and aimless choreography.

Now Ferguson has spoken out on what she thinks of her soon to be chart rival and her creative cause.

The X-Factor USA is here!

Fox’s much hyped British import has finally kicked off on American soil and looks set to be the biggest show of its kind.

Featuring judges Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, LA Reid and Nicole Scherzinger, the show favours American Idol with its nationwide auditions. However, there is a defining twist in that groups and solo acts over 25’s are eligible to enter.

After weeks of auditions and bootcamp we now enter the live shows where the narrowed down top 9 are battling to advance to the next stage of the competition.

Fashionista/femcee Lil’ Kim is back in a big way with ‘I Am Not the One’ – the latest Itune single from the rap Queen Bee.  Formerly Hip Hop’s female frontrunner, the diva now finds herself trying to catch up with the likes of another rapping wigged wonder.  Yet, while busting Paypal charts wide open with her most recent release, such presence has yet to translate into Billboard placements.  But, with new music on the horizon, that maybe set to change.

‘Try With Me’ songstress Nicole Scherzinger may have seen her tries for Billboard chart entry fall on deaf ears, but where most may not be listening, they are certainly watching.  For, in more ways than one, the X Factor judge is finding spectators enamored with her assets and x factors.

So, while ‘Killer Love’ may be on its deathbed, Scherzinger is showing off her killer body in December’s ‘Shape Magazine’ and visual arts book Culo by Raphael Mazzucco (November 22).  While the former is set to put Scherzinger’s physique on display, the latter is…umm…going to bring up the rear.

While Coldplay‘s ‘Princess of China’ featuring pop princess Rihanna has fallen from reign in Billboard’s upper half,  the impressive debut of her assisted Drake cut ‘Take Care’ (the title track from his #1 album) at number 9 and ‘We Found Love’ still at number 1 have kept the islander a mainstay in the top 20.  As of the refreshing of the tally tomorrow, the cuts will be joined by a third party – ‘You Da One’ – as it blasts from 73-14.

Following the Barbadian’s triple chart check is comeback queen Christina Aguilera who plays assistant to two top 10 cuts as ‘Moves Like Jagger’ moves down to number 6 and her assistance on Flo Rida‘s ‘Good Feeling’ sits at #8.

Yet, while Adele‘s reign on the album charts top 10 just won’t let up, no other diva has dominated the Billboard charts like Katy Perry.  Her album has struggled to hit double platinum, but her singles are double placing on singles chart with her latest ‘The One That Got Away’ now sitting in the top 10 (at #10).  The sixth top 10 single from this album, the last album to accomplish such feat was Janet Jackson‘s ‘janet’ album in 1993-1994.  And, with five #1 singles from one album, Perry not only sets a record for females, but also threatens to best a single’s record set by Janet’s pop icon brother Michael Jackson.

Looks like gal pals Rihanna and Katy have a new reason to cheer.  Both album sales may fail, but Itune purchases prevail.

Ever on the rebound, ‘Genie In a Bottle’ belter Christina Aguilera is bringing a new bottled fragrance, ‘Secret Potion’, to the masses. The follow up to her ‘By Night‘ and ‘Royal Desire‘ scents, the fragrance marks ‘Brand Xtina’s’ latest foray into fragrance.   With pretty much every diva who’s recently graced the Billboard charts also lining fragrance shelves (see:  Rihanna, Katy Perry, Britney Spears, etc), the Grammy winner joins a line of songstresses attempting to embrace consumers on ‘Black Friday’.

Grammy winning, multiplatinum diva Toni Braxton is enjoying a reignited career with the monstrous success of WeTV’s ‘Braxton Family Values’.  No time to rest on laurels, the eldest Braxton daughter is under new management and already working on new projects – including an album, rumored Broadway shows, and possibly films.

Still making promo rounds for the hit reality show, the R&B vet recently dropped by Essence magazine to tackle topics of ex-husband Keri Lewis, sibling Tamar Braxton, why Mark Wahlberg is her ideal “snowman”, and why she’s been absent for many of the Braxtons’ earlier promotional appearances.
