The net was set ablaze last week when reports that American Idol producers were planning a mid-season shake-up caught on like wildfire. Multiple sources claimed that the show’s creators were looking to oust Mariah Carey and replace her with rival and former judge on the show Jennifer Lopez. Carey’s only saving grace was said to be the legal action she threatened upon learning of the “coup”.

With Bey-Season in full swing, Beyonce has naturally been the hottest of topics as of late. Last week saw the 17-time Grammy winner turn up the heat with a sizzling new commercial for H&M.

Decked in colourful pieces from the collection (deemed ‘Beyonce as Mrs. Carter In H&M‘), the 90-second spot also featured brand new track ‘Standing On The Sun’ (a Sia penned number that will feature on King B’s fifth studio album due later this year).
