Nicole Scherzingermay not be able to lock down a US release for her ‘Killer Love’ LP, however that hasn’t stopped her from announcing a re-release of the project here in Europe.
The set, which went on sale here back in March, is to be re-packaged and released on November 14th. Writing duo, the Nervo twins (‘When Love Takes Over’) penned its lead (well, actually 5th) single ‘Try With Me’ – the video for which Scherzinger shot recently in Mexico’s Xilitla rainforest.
With the 32 year old having shot the clip in an 18 hour straight shoot (in between her grueling X Factor schedule), she certainly re-affirms her hard-working nature. We can only hope it ultimately pays off.
Fox’s much hyped British import has finally kicked off on American soil and looks set to be the biggest show of its kind.
Featuring judges Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, LA Reid and Nicole Scherzinger, the show favours American Idol with its nationwide auditions. However, there is a defining twist in that groups and solo acts over 25’s are eligible to enter.
Unsurprisingly, with this being the Judges’ Homes, the talented and talent-challenged are out in equal measure for a crack at progressing to the live shows. With special guest judges Enrique Iglesias, Pharrell Williams, and Rihanna playing assistant to Nicole, Paula, and L.A. respectively, fans were treated to a brand new reason to tune in.

From The Vault this week pays tribute to Ciara‘s 2005 summer sizzler ‘Oh’. The gritty cut was released as the 3rd single from her Platinum selling debut, ‘Goodies’. Featuring a verse from Hip-Hop titan Ludacris, the release peaked at #2 on the Billboard 100 and was yet another international hit for the singer.
Riding high on the wave that was Crunk-R&B back then, the Dre & Vidal produced cut served as Ci’s homage to her hometown of Atlanta, Georgia. While having a darker tone than previous singles ‘Goodies’ and ‘1,2 Step’, ‘Oh’ maintained a crossover appeal and radio-friendliness that allowed it to perform as well as its predecessors on the charts.
From the elaborate choreograpgy to the overall swag and attitude displayed, the single’s accompanying video further cemented CiCi’s status as the most visually exciting emerging artist in town.
Here at TGJ HQ, we can’t help but feel like the world hasn’t seen the best of Super C yet. Something which could very well change now that her rough spell (see: Fantasy Ride, Basic Instinct) is seemingly behind her and the comeback narrative is falling into place. Let’s only hope that her collaboration with her Epic knight in shining armour, L.A Reid, yields fruitful rewards. After all, he is responsible for Mariah‘s 00’s comeback and Rihanna‘s (successful) joke of a career; yet also bares the load of mishandling of Janet‘s 2008 under-performer ‘Discipline’. For Ms. Harris’ sake, their reunion (he launched her career) needs totranslate into critical and commercial acclaim and of course more hits. Hopefully this new venture will also allow Ms. Harris to expand her creative vision through big-budget videos and worldwide tours. She’s too talented to still be so ‘local’. She’s a global star in-waiting.
Currently in the UK to fulfill a number of dates on her ‘Loud Tour‘, Pop pretender Rihanna had much to celebrate last week, after her trusty Navy launched latest single ‘We Found Love’ straight to #1.
Now, the the model has more cause to rejoice.
She remains atop the UK singles chart for a second consecutive week.
Yesterday evening, singer/actor Usher wowed fans with a live showing of his hit ‘Yeah‘ at the Bill Clinton ‘Decade Of Difference‘ event, which also saw the likes of Lady GaGa take to the stage.
Supported by his oft celebrated dance moves and his not so acclaimed live vocals, he was one of many celebrities who showed up to join the former President in celebrating his long reaching philanthropic work.
