‘The X-Factor’ 2011 live shows kicked off just hours ago.

{For those unfamiliar with The X Factor, the show is the UK’s version of American Idol – with a twist in that groups and over 28’s are eligible to enter. Now in it’s seventh season, the show is responsible for birthing the careers of Leona Lewis, Alexandra Burke, and JLS. It’s US version launched just weeks ago on FOX}.

Now one of television’s most recognizable royals, many could be forgiven for forgetting exactly how and why Paula Abdul initially rose to fame.

Spotted by members of The Jackson band whilst performing as a cheerleader at a Los Angeles Lakers game, she was signed onto choreograph the video for the single ‘Torture‘ .

Later on, she went onto create a number of  choreographed sequences for both stage and screen, working on the movies ‘Coming To America’ and ‘Karate Kid III’.

Enjoying Billboard #1s with her own singles ‘Rush Rush‘ , ‘Opposites Attracts‘ and ‘Forever Your Girl‘, there are some who would say that Abdul’s impact on Pop culture is both underrated and heavily overlooked.

Now, he has revealed that he has returned to the studio with ‘Ur So Gay’ belle Katy Perry to ‘freshen up’ material he created for her that did not make the final cut for her  ‘Teenage Dream’ album.

Fans all over praised ‘Love All Over Me’ songstress Monica’s official lead single ‘Until It’s Gone’ upon its mid-September unveiling.  To capitalize on the warm reception, the Grammy winner has already wrapped shooting on the accompanying visual for the single – which officially gained radio adds Tuesday.

Though plagued with a number of growing unfavorable headlines, anticipation for tomorrow’s Michael Jackson Forever tribute is still mounting.  And while fans ready themselves for the Jamie Foxx-hosted extravaganza featuring performances from the likes of Christina Aguilera, Ne-Yo, Jennifer Hudson, Beyonce, and more, news has surfaced two formerly expected A-list guests won’t be in attendance – Chris Brown and Black Eyed Peas.

Much like Michael’s pop superstar sibling Janet Jackson, their absences are not being received well by fans and critics of the show.  Unlike Miss Jackson, their reasons – in Chris Brown‘s case, especially – weren’t exactly voluntary…
