Glitz, glamor, and gargantuan success are often seen as being followed by financial rewards.
However, as has long been relayed about the business of music, artists don’t always repeat the monetary benefits – even after releasing smash hits (see: “that” iconic breakdown by Lisa ‘Left Eye’ Lopes).
The latest to illuminate this reality is Fifth Harmony alum Lauren Jauregui.
During her tenure with the Pop ensemble, the songbird’s success soared to seismic heights off the back of Billboard hits such a ‘Work From Home’ and ‘Worth It.’
And while one might assume that buckets of bucks would be the end result, Jauregui has revealed otherwise.

Before Kelly Rowland turned heads and dropped jaws as headliner of London’s ‘Mighty Hoopla 2023,’ the diva was causing a hoopla of her own on the promo trail for her role as judge on Audible’s recently premiered ‘Breakthrough‘ – the world’s “first audio-only singing competition series.”
Spotted at ABC News, ‘The Today Show,’ and a number of other outlets in support of the Daveed Diggs-hosted venture, Rowland may have run the promo gamut for the podcast that’s searching for the next big music superstar but couldn’t escape pressing questions about her own new music.
Having already reiterated the desire for her next album (the follow-up to 2013’s ‘Talk a Good Game’) to be a “surprise drop,” the GRAMMY winner doubled down on the notion in her most recent press run while promising the first taste from the project is coming “soon.”

JT and Yung Miami – better known as the City Girls – turned heads Friday (June 9) when they dropped the LL Cool J-sampling bop ‘I Need a Thug,‘ but to the surprise of their devoted fans (affectionately called #Citizens) even more new music was en route.
After wowing festivalgoers at Rolling Loud California with the live introduction of the tune ‘Pinata’ back in March, the Southern duo lift the lid on the official version of the Southside-produced cut.
“P-ssy make him do the cha-cha / He wanna hit it like a piñata (I’m wet like agua) / A piñata (I’m wet like agua), a piñata (I’m wet like agua) / P-ssy make him do the cha-cha,” they rap on the racy track.
Believed to be among the gems set to line their yet-titled third studio album, hear ‘Pinata’ in full inside.
As the June 23 due date of Kelly Clarkson‘s ninth traditional studio album ‘Chemistry’ nears, expect to hear more and more offerings from the highly anticipated set.
Having already whet appetites with previously released singles ‘Me,’ ‘Mine,’ and ‘Favorite Kind of High’ from the 14-track LP, the 3x GRAMMY winner follows with two more tastes of gems set to line the project: ‘I Hate Love’ and ‘Red Flag Collector.’
While the former boasts a guest appearance from EMMY and GRAMMY-winning comedy legend Steve Martin, the latter shines with production from Kelly’s longtime collaborator Jason Halbert.
Ahead of the arrival of ‘Chemistry’ to digital shelves later this month, hop inside to hear live versions of ‘Hate’ and ‘Red’ filmed at Clarkson’s one-night-only performance of the album last month at the Belasco Theatre in Los Angeles.
Lil Nas X‘s 2019 breakthrough hit, ‘Old Town Road,’ may have made history at the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) when it became the first song ever to gallop to 16x Platinum status (meaning it sold 16 million copies Stateside), but the commercial performance of his other big hits isn’t anything to shake a stick at.
