For its critical and commercial successes, many of her dedicated fans figured the project would be a shoo-in for the award show’s most prestigious honor.

Much to their surprise and chagrin, the LP and its content did not capture one of the Big 3 categories it was nominated in.

In 2018, Rap queen Nicki Minaj reigned in Hot 100 history books when she became the first female act (of any genre) to collect over 100 hits on the chart.  After only two years of owning the title, however, her “Minajesty” was dethroned by Taylor Swift in August 2020 when all the tunes from the Country-turned-Pop diva’s latest album, ‘folklore,’ were penciled on the tally – pushing her overall chart entry count to 113 (as we reported here).

Swift fans barely had two months to celebrate the win as Nicki tied the total when her remix to Sada Baby‘s ‘Whole Lotta Choppas’ impacted the hit list (as we reported just three weeks ago).

Fast forward to this week, Billboard has confirmed the 37-year-old has powered past Taylor again.
