Do you think that the right people won?

In a recent interview with Sweden’s Kingsize magazine, rapper Jay-Z opened up about married life with Beyonce, as well as if the couple are planning for any offspring any time soon. Peep the interesting quotes below:

You’ve just turned 40 years old, do you have any plans for starting a family soon? You and Beyonce talk about that?

Jay-Z: “I’d like to be a dad some day and I love children. You start your life with expectations and dreams, then life unfolds and it doesn’t always turn out the way you imagined. Life is what it is. And at this point it’s up to somebody else.

Do you consider your and Beyonce’s marriage as role model for a perfect marriage?

Jay-Z: “I don’t think there is such thing as a perfect relationship. It is unrealistic and hoping for too much. I don’t think it is worth all that pressure. We also have our struggles and problems.” {Source}

Hmmm…. at the kids answer LOL. No comment at the silly question at the end. Why do some interviews ask questions that they could answer themselves?! In any case…

Peep chart rivals Ciara and Rihanna chatting it up at Clive Davis’ Pre-Grammy Party a few hours ago. Looks like an interesting convo, right? In the interest of fun….

The incomparable Lauryn Hill took to the stage at Australia’s Raggamuffin 2010 reggae festival today at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl. Joined by Julian Marley, Hill (34) gave a rousing performance of Bob Marley’s classic ‘Turn Your Lights Down Low’ – which she herself covered and released in 1999.

Though a little rough around the edges in places, I really enjoyed this. What’s more, watching this really has me eager to see Lauryn find peace and come back and remind the new generation why she is who she is. She has an audience, she has a label (still signed to Columbia), so the ball really is in her court…

This week’s From The Vault clip is Mya‘s 2003 smash ‘My Love Is Like…Wo’. As well as the Missy Elliott produced (Kenny and Charley penned) track being a winner, the video showcased the R&B star in a new light. Not only was the once clean-cut Mya sexier and sassier, the Paul Hunter directed clip highlighted how a great an all-round dancer Ms. Harrison actually is (she’s a trained dancer); the tap breakdown still looks as good today as it did 7 years ago, as is the song and the whole the damn video LOL. Enjoy.

The stars came out full-force a few hours ago for industry legend Clive Davis‘ annual Pre-Grammy Awards party. Held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, the event’s theme was ‘A Salute To Icons’ honouring Universal CEO Doug Smith.

Notable attendees included Rihanna, Usher, Ciara, Ne-Yo, Mary J. Blige, Jay-Z, Toni Braxton, Fergie, Keri Hilson Mya, and more. {Clive’s protégé Whitney Houston, who was snubbed by the Grammy committee this year, was notably absent}

Undoubtedly two of the industry’s biggest stars; Lady GaGa and Beyonce sent the industry into a frenzy with the debut of their Darkchild produced collaboration ‘Telephone’ a few months back. Well now the pair look set to do the same, having shot the video for the single this week in Los Angeles – the first images of which you can peep above and below.

According to Lady-GaGa.net, the video is prison-themed and will see Beyonce break GaGa out of jail. R&B singer/actor Tyrese will star as the main lead.

GaGa and Beyonce filmed acting, performance and dancing scenes inside diner, on a desert road  on the outskirts of LA on the shoot’s first day. They are then said to have shot scenes inside a truck named the ‘Pussy Wagon’ (LMAO!). Interestingly, the wagon is the same one used by Uma Thurman in the film ‘Kill Bill’ and is now owned by Quentin Tarintino. The famed director loaned it to Lady GaGa for the video shoot. {Source}

I cannot wait! Word has it the video premières on February 10th!

Rihanna recently sat down for a short interview with Miss Info. The Covergirl representative shed some light on how she feels to be nominated for ‘Best Rap/Sung Collaboration’ with ‘Run This Town’ and which performances she is looking forward to seeing at tomorrow’s Grammy Awards ceremony. Rihanna also discussed the possibility of a collaboration with fellow Pop sensation Lady GaGa.

When Rihanna says that she is waiting for the “right” time to make a record with GaGa I take it she means that she is waiting to get permission from her label. A collaboration between the two would no doubt be very interesting to witness (particularly the costumes in the accompanying music video) but I highly doubt that she would have much say in the direction of the track. As neither a renowned vocalist or critically acclaimed songwriter/producer, I expect the only part of the creative process to which Rihanna would contribute is wailing on the microphone.
