Last night, the NAACP Image Awards 2016 aired live on TVOne.

The annual extravaganza, which celebrates the successes of people of color, was this year was hosted by ‘Black-ish’ star Anthony Anderson. 

Achievements by performers in film and TV were spotlighted yesterday, with previous awards presented on February 4th for accomplishments in music, literature and animation.

A decade after ‘Dreamgirls’ dominated at the box office, the legendary musical is heading back to the stage…this time with ‘Glee’ star Amber Riley.

The show, which first debuted in 1981 (and won six Tony Awards), is being given new life in London’s West End.

Spike Lee has made a career out of the controversial and his latest movie ‘Chiraq’ is no exception.

Due in theaters December 4th, the film centers on gang gun violence by men in some of Chicago’s neighborhoods and is based on the Greek comedy ‘Lysistrata,’ by Aristophanes.

An all-star cast have been assembled to tell the tale, including Samuel L. Jackson, Nick Cannon, Jennifer Hudson, and Angela Bassett.

In news that can only be classified as tragic, Bobbi Kristina – daughter of late pop icon Whitney Houstonreportedly expired tonight at the young age of 22.

Krissy, as she was affectionately called by her Grammy award winning mother, had been in a comatose state for seven months before passing away at an Atlanta hospice care center.

Since the story broke, fans and fellow celebrities alike have been pouring out condolences for the Houston and Brown family.  See some of your favorite stars’ weigh in on the tragic news:
