Jennifer Hudson and Brandy look like they’ll have some Grammy winning company on season 2 of FOX’s breakaway hit ‘Empire’ in the form of Alicia Keys and Lenny Kravitz.

Brandy‘s career has been sitting on top of the world of late thanks to a number of major moves.

Indeed, the Vocal Bible has made headlines in recent months after signing on to star in the Broadway adaptation of ‘Chicago’ and for landing her own BET sitcom called ‘Zoe Moon.’

Now, it would appear a role on music drama ‘Empire’ is on the cards for the songstress (who is also working on a new album).

After teasing involvement in the Lee Daniels drama earlier this month, the singer all but confirmed her recruitment by joining the cast at the FOX Upfront presentation today.

The press event, which is held to tout the shows on the 2015-2016 schedules, is typically only attended by the talent on the programming being promoted. And per the snaps above and below, a roll-call of ‘Empire’s stars populated every pic B-Rocka featured in; stars such as Taraji P. Henson, Jussie Smollett, Jennifer Hudson, and Timbaland – who executive produces the music on the series.

Put simply, it’s highly unlikely Ms. Norwood was there for fun. Fingers crossed a formal  announcement is made soon.

Pending then, peep more pics after the jump…

For all of the tweet-worthy moments over its lengthy 3.5 hour airtime (see: emotional speeches, off-color commentary, jaw-dropping live performances courtesy of Jennifer Hudson, John Legend & Lady Gaga), the day after the  87th annual Academy Awards is finding the show lining tweets for another reason – a severe drop in ratings.

The Neil Patrick Harris-hosted affair, which aired February 22 on ABC, not only brought with it a 17% drop in viewers from last year’s showing, but also reigns as the ceremony’s lowest ratings tally this decade.

Despite an awesome lineup featuring Jennifer Hudson, John Legend, Adam Levine, and more, it was pop megastar Lady Gaga who was billed as the night’s “must see” musical performer at the 87th annual Academy Awards. Now, after lending an absolutely jaw-dropping performance of the Julie Andrews-famed ‘The Sound of Music’ from the classic movie of its namesake, we can see why.

Setting Twitter ablaze as we speak, the emotional performance is quickly being deemed by critics one of the award show’s most memorable…ever!  Tuck in below to let us know if you agree:

Beyonce & Rihanna aren’t the only vocalists making independent moves this year.

For, kicking out the middle man to reach their fans directly are R&B singers LeToya Luckett, Lyrica Anderson and Chrisette Michele, all of whom are making major moves on an independent front this year.

Not even the combined powers of music super divas Beyonce, Lady Gaga, and Jennifer Hudson were enough to shift killer ratings for the second installment of the ‘Grammy tribute’ series – this time paying homage the academy’s most decorated artist Stevie Wonder.

Airing February 15th on CBS, the showing – a critics top pick –  did manage to draw a respectable viewing audience, but still nearly less than half of last year’s episode in honor of the Beatles (which drew a whopping 13.95 million viewers).  The numbers are all the more disappointing as, unlike the Beatles tribute, Wonder’s installment had little competition elsewhere on television.

But, as reports below reveal, all was not lost.  For, after the likes of Pharrell Williams, Ariana Grande, Janelle Monae, John Legend, and Ed Sheeran put their ever modern twists on Wonder’s classic hits, interest in the 70s & 80s numbers found itself skyrocketing on top sites Spotify and Shazam.
